So anyway they held a Halloween party 👻 at school last night. I decided to visit after class. As two of my friends on here @helainked and @samihain have birthdays 🎂, but weren't present, I celebrated for them.
Anyway, the area where they held the party, they divided it up into various areas: one part was a dance floor, another was people painting pumpkins 🎃, another was showing horror movies 🎥 (good ones that @amoxi would approve of, not watered down remakes that put everyone to sleep; I think one was the original Halloween and another was the original Salem's Lot), and another area with uber-geeks playing video games. 🎮
Several geeks from the biology club 🧪 were dressed like an unholy cross between mad scientists and Super Mario characters: they were walking around wearing Freddy Kruger fedoras and carrying puppets like the killer plants that come out of the pipes in the Super Mario game (I'm not ever sure @starry would be able to figure that one out); and couple other sci-fi dudes held a light-saber battle on the dance floor while the DJ played the "Duel of Fates" from Star War (@kailo would have gotten a kick out of that one.)
And of course there was the music🎶 and dancing. I'm guessing they played the bulk of the millennial wedding standards (i.e. "Bad Touch", "My Humps", "I Kissed a Girl", "Shots", "Shut Up and Dance With Me", etc.) before I got there; I couldn't guess what a good 60-70% of the songs the DJ were playing as I haven't gone out to the clubs since before COVID (one of them got all of kids got on the dance floor and were doing these weird high kicks.) I recognized (and danced to) some though:
- Los Del Rio - La Macarena (I forgot how to dance this! At least it wasn't that terrible Bayside mix!)
- Akon - Smack That
- Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5
- Eiffel 65 - Blue
- Teenage Dirtbag
- Las Ketchup - Aserejé
- Cha Cha Slide (I think everyone but me forgot how to dance this, as people were crashing into each other.)
- Mr. Brightside (I'd rather hear "Are we human, or are we dancer?")
- Cupid Shuffle (no one crashed into the walls this time, compared to last year.)
- A bunch of other songs I have clue what they are,
Never thought I'd see the day where the kids say the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, and Usher are "Moldy Oldies". 🤣🤣🤣
And then they closed the party by playing nothing but Taylor Swift stuff (it's all bubblegum for the teen set to me), so I decided to get out of there while I could, and listened to lots of great music driving home on the expressway. It was fun, although quite tame compared to some of the parties we had back in the day.
