At 4:30pm this afternoon I watched as a young guy riding his motorbike way too fast, hit the round-a-bout in front of where I work, the impact sent him through the air almost 50ms, we (myself and another motorist) tried to help him as much as we could until the ambulance arrived but the impact with ground was so hard and the damage so severe that I doubt that he would have made it to the hospital alive, he was a real mess, one arm was almost snapped in half, both his legs were broken and he would of had serious internal injuries, I was afraid to take his helmet off in case of neck injuries, but we needed to clear his airways as the visor was smashed and the helmet was full of mud, blood, gravel & grass, he was not conscious when I got to him.
It has shook me up a bit, I can't get the image of him flying through the air out of my head, then seeing how broken & fucked up he was will stay with me forever, it's hard to watch someone so young dying and not be able to do anything about. I don't even know his name.
fuck the detox I need a drink.........
