So tomorrow is my 33rd birthday and of course I decided to run 33 miles to commemorate it. I don't think of myself as a sane person when I decide on such things. I am; however, breaking it up into two 3 hour blocks. one at 5 or 6am to start and the other to start at 5pm. I figured this will keep me from running in the most blazing part of the day and I've invited friends to come out for the second leg of it and run/walk/bike however much of it with me they want... I don't suspect many will go more than a mile with me... nor does this upset me.
Recently I put all of my friends on notice and said that I am obviously heinous at picking out people to date so it was now up to them. This paid off in spades but it almost worked too well. I ended up being introduced to two girls that shared the same zealous appetite for fitness that I do. Then, I got along very well with both. The good news is, neither one is trying to be serious with someone at the moment and that very much so fits well with me because I cannot fathom the idea of a girl friend at this juncture.
So for now, I'll continue going on random dates and not hooking up with anyone until I, inevitably, meet someone that I cannot imagine walking away from.
On the plus side, I have a company that is very interested in distributing a documentary that I worked on for the past year. I don't see major dollar signs coming from it but my work will be out there and that's all anyone really wants, right? To be heard.
A second plus comes in the form of new prospects. I had an interview for a teaching position the other day. By the end of things I was told that as soon as the new budget is approved, after the first of the year, the job is mine. This is a very welcomed change since I have now cordoned off my biggest social outlet by building a garage gym instead of going to one.
That about sums things up. Ridiculous fitness goals. Mild dating. New horizons.
