And thus, my fear and loathing is over. Over this summer, I took part in a world that would have sent 99.9% of the population of this world insane. A summer Hunter S. Thompson would be proud of. I was able to enjoy more substance abuse than my liver will ever be able to forgive me for, but it has also helped me grow in ways I can't even begin to explain. Not only that, but I've made a friend who will be one of my best friends forever, no matter where life may lead us. I won't go into specifics, because scaring people isn't my thing. Sufice to say, I think I can now begin my adulthood.
I want to thank all the Gods and Spirits I saw on my incredible journey. Thank you Spirit Molecule for bringing light into an otherwise simple world. You have given me hope for the future, knowing that something can be so beautiful is invigorating and inspiring.
Other worlds, other beings, other effects that can't be described have shaped my mind into the most passionate liberal, with a love of man so strong that almost daily I am depressed by what hate and evil this world has to offer. A depression that is always taken away from me when I see the faces of those that are close to me, that would sacrifice anything in order to help myself or others. After all, good cannot exist without evil, and evil cannot exist without good. To think otherwise is a fools folly.
By no means does this mean my fear and loathing completely stops, but it means that my body and mind are at a stage currently where to do more would not benefit me, but rather be for sheer pleasure. Sheer pleasure is a great thing, but it can make the mind and the will weak. I have a strength, and a desire, and a will to push forth into the coming year. I can't wait to finish writing the vocal line and lyrics for my roommate's band. I can't wait to perform either. I can't wait to become financially sound in an economy that threatens to topple and crash. The little things that will bring me to a new level of peace of mind. To be a God over my own life. To have absolute control over all that I touch. These are the things that will be mine in the next year.
I am stronger, smarter, and more free than I have ever been. Each day will mark another day of strength. I will become my absolute vision of perfection. And I will enjoy it.
Today I begin to suck the marrow from the bones of life. Yum!
