Tonight I see my first Celtics game at the Garden. WOOHOO!!!
After that, I'll be heading over to the Rattlesnake on Boylston Street for my sister's weekly gig. Tonight is going to be a quasi-rehearsal for this Saturday's Liver Foundation benefit. I'm quite stoked, I'll be singing lead on two songs, and backup on the rest. I'll be singing Marvin Gaye's Let's Get it On, and Weezer's Say it Ain't So. Its going to be quite the selection of music, and generally an amazing performance. Everyone we have in the band is just stellar.
I've been a bit down lately. I've just lost the will to believe in people. It may have been self-delusional that I've kept some sort of faith this long, but the more I watch and listen to people, the less I can care about the race as a whole. Let the fuckers all go to war and kill themselves for greed, arrogance, hatred .. for whatever reasons may inspire someone to kill. I read the book Jarhead, and it set out perfectly what I refused to believe for so long I think. When it comes down to it, there's an apathy to stop what people know is wrong. Everyone may know the truth, but to act on the truth when your orders are otherwise seems to be a foreign concept to so many people.
V for Vendetta ... don't go see it, go read the comic book. If the League of Extrodinary Gentlemen was any indication of what Hollywood does to Alan Moore's work (he's already distanced himself from V for Vendetta), then the film ought to be a sad representation of the original book. I love the book, which I suppose makes me a terrorist sympathizer nowadays.
I'm done, stick a fork in me
