So it was a lovely weekend, even though the needle dipped lower than we've been used to this winter.
On Saturday my friend Peter gave me a futon frame and his old couch. What a great guy, he even helped me move them into my place, which was no easy task. So now my apartment feels like I'm living there. Its one of the nicest places I've lived in since I moved to Boston 5 years ago, essentially because I'm the only one living there!
I've been living very kingly as of late. The Italian wine I've been drinking has left me licking my lips in sweet delight. Anywhere from 12-15 year old barolos, barbarescos and cabernets have left my whole body in the most mellow of moods, and most satisfied lips. In my opinion, the 1994 Oberto barolo was one of the finest wines I've ever, and most likely will ever, taste. The 1992 Michelle Chiarlo Barolo had a flavor almost like venison wash through your mouth with ever sip, but it started out with sweet and almost salty flavor at the same time. I only wish I had saved the Michelle Chiarlo for the venison steaks which my friend Jim was given by a friend, those two would have complimented each other incredibly well.
I've also been stocking my mini-fridge with good Belgian beers. Nothing like a pint of Chimay to dazzle the taste buds and provide a wonderful buzz with relative ease, which isn't necessary, but its still quite wonderful.
Today I actually walked to work, which I wasn't expecting to do, but sort of happened due to my sleeplessness. I woke up around 5 am today and just did everything I had planned to do before going to work, and I was left with an additional half hour of time before I had to leave, so I decided to just go, and hop on the train wherever I was when I neeeded to. I ended up walking all the way from Allston to Government Center in Boston. Quite a nice walk I must say. It felt damn good, my entire body is awake and energized. I think I might even walk home tonight, which would be nice, but depending on how cold it becomes between now and then, I may have to decide against it. We shall see though.
I have little else of interest to say, except perhaps that I'm the luckiest, happiest, most content person in the world right now. Not even a law firm can bring me down from such great heights.
