So last night I turned on a space heater in my room, and unintentionally left it on all night long. I woke up in the morning all warm and cozy. I wish I hadn't needed to get up and into the shower. I would have been absolutely happy just laying in bed with my blanket up around my neck curled up into a warm little ball. Instead, I got up, into a cold bathroom for a steamy shower, stepped out of the shower and got cold again, until I walked into my warm warm room, then left for work (not before taking down 5 bags of trash, in multiple trips. Sometimes the fourth floor can be a trying.)
I'm heading out to the Allston area tonight to do a bit of beverage consumption with my old roommate Jim. Haven't seen him for about two weeks, there ought to be a lot to catch up on, mainly his touring with a friend's band. Go Jim go!
I've got a nefarious grin on my face today. I don't know why, but I feel ... unihibited today.
Our landlord dropped by yesterday, which prompted my roommate to clean up some mess that's been sitting around for a while, which I was about to get really anal retentive and annoying about if he didn't pick it up soon. So things are good there, plus he checked out the installation of the garbage disposal and power switch for it. He was terribly impressed, and basically gave us his permission to do pretty much whatever we want now, within reason. I guess I'll have to take the crystal chandeliers back ...
I'm feeling rather potent today. Going to bed at 11 last night was a wise choice. It made my coffee this morning make me feel like I'm on crack.
I'm interested to see what Fitzgerald does today on the investigation. Tons of speculation, which is great fun, and which provides me with an even higher respect for Fitzgerald. A special prosecutor who doesn't try a case in the Court of Public Opinion. If you can recall Clinton's special prosecutor, Ken Starr, he tried it all in the public's eye. Not too professional. Frankly, if I were the republicans, I'd be happy that it was Fitzgerald investigating, otherwise the GOP numbers would be tanking now (well, moreso at least). I'm dying for there to be some level of integrity in our govt. Canada no longer has faith in us, and regards our word to be as good as nuclear waste, thanks to a visit from Condi Rice and her belief that the our word is "as good as gold". Canadians responding by saying they are now off the gold standard. Nice.
Politics politics politics. I'm annoyed the girl I'm "pursuing" at the moment was a Political major in college, but won't discuss politics. I'm a junkie for politics, so it bugs me just a bit. But she is also a non-confrontational person, very unlike myself. I don't like to be pessimistic, but I'm not encouraged by this. She intends to get her JD in tax law though, ambitious yes, but tax law? BLAH! It takes a particular person to enjoy tax law. I think I'm going to jinx this relationship.
On that note, everyone be safe and courteous over the weekend, and I'll see you on the flip side.
