And so I greet you, my chums.
Thanks for your well wishes. The funeral was quite a send off. My eulogy was well received. I could see my brother's headstone from the gravesite though, I did not enjoy that one bit.
Things are fine now.
I have spiked my tea with Sailor Jerry's rum, and I am enjoying it considerably.
I have been reading Dostoyevsky's "The Idiot," a lovely novel. I enjoyed this passage I wish to share with you:
"Inventors and geniuses at the beginning of their careers (and very frequently at the end of them also) have almost always been considered by society to be no better than fools ... a proper lack of originality have to this day constituted for us, by general consensus, the integral characteristics of a practical and well-bred man, a sudden transformation would be far too ill-bred and almost indecent.
What tender and devoted mother, for instance, wouldn't be dismayed and sick with fear if her son or daughter strayed from the track a bit. 'No better let him be happy and live in comfort without originality' is what every mother things when rocking her baby to sleep ..."
So how are you?
