So it all started when I read in a german magazine that they were looking for "the greatest Biffy Clyro fan". I probably could've done anything. Write a letter, draw a picture. You name it. But no. I chose to do a cover of one of their songs. This song was called "machines". Next thing I did was send it to that magazine and.. wait. I didn't expect to win. It was just fun to do it. They were kicking off their tour soon and I would've gone to their concerts anyway. So then... I got an e-mail from Warner. They said I won a meet & greet with Biffy Clyro and they'd give me free access to all of their shows on the current tour. Speechless. Needless to say.
So when the day came when I met Biffy Clyro.. you know they weren't big back then. They didn't play arena shows with Muse or anything like that. No. They were small. A tiny band. A tiny elephant band because live they always kicked butt. I was entering the venue and their tour manager Neil greeted me. Gave me a very long tour of like everything. Showed my BC's gear, gave me a handful of picks. Very kind man. But then he led me backstage to BC's room. So yeah, it was really about to happen. I entered the room and.. shit they were smiling at me, greeting, hugging. Like I was a very old friend of 'em. I sat down and they were literally asking me more questions than the another way around. I felt like I was Biffy Clyro. So we chatted, they gave me beer, they drank beer, Simon Vodka. And then at some point they asked me what I had to do to win this. So apparently they didn't see or hear the cover I did. So I showed it to them on YouTube. They laughed. I mean not because I riuned the song. No. Because I did mimiced their scottish accent in the song. After that Simon just said to me that he really liked it and that I should keep on doing music because he sees talent. I don't know if what he said was true but from this day forward I made music. I made it before but this is what gave me strength and confidence, and just everything.
After that I saw them again on a festival. They did some signings after their show and I was there too. Guess what? They remembered me. One of the kindest bands I ever got to know.
Some weeks after that I got my BC Logo Tattoo on my left arm. Just to remind me. Forever.
