Well as for who may have caused edits in F9/11:
"I hired the toughest team of fact checkers I could find, lawyers
and head counsel from The New Yorker," Harvey Weinstein said
in an e-mail response to questions from The Associated Press. "
We invited them to be tough -- and they were. All journalism should
be this careful."

I know from experience that liberals in times of trouble often turn
on radicals in order to disassociate themselves and stay out of trouble.
As in the Palmer Raids or McCarthyism, so it is now.
The way I think things have worked with the Bin-Laden
organizations is that, guerilla groups which are formed under the
aegis of the three letter agencies, even once they have "graduated"
and become "independent forces not under our control" or even
"rogue" organizations, continue to remain under the survellence
and effective control (through the banking system) of their mentors.
Its instructive to look into the BCCI and BNL scandals for examples.
It seems to me there was a specific awareness by Bush and his
inner cadre that an attack was imminent on a high value target. And
the trade center had to be on the top of that list given what had
happened in the past.
I read that NORAD had four major exercises a year and that they
usually included a hijacked airliner or other civil flight incident. They had
wargamed planes crashing into buildings. And NORAD was really set
up to stop subsonic bombers, as in Fail-safe or many other cold war era
movies. In other words, big, slow-moving targets with the IFF turned
off or obfuscated. Alot like the civil airliners on 9/11.
The New Jersey Air National Guard is one of the best-regarded
units with the most flying time. And they couldn't get to New York
before jets from Langley (the CIA airbase in Virginia)? And no air
cover of any kind in DC? There is a fucking ABM (anti-ballistic
missile) system there under the ABM treaty! And when the
orders finally came, why was Cheney giving the shoot-to-kill orders
and by what authority?
I saw Bush reading "My Pet Goat" at the time of 9/11 (after the fact)
and my thoughts at the time were, "Bush is continuing to sit there
because he's on a timeschedule. He is establishing an alibi for
why the shoot-down orders were never given until too late". And I still
think that. Interestingly enough it seems to me maybe Cheney was
out of the loop and attempted to take over under COG and give the
orders to fire himself. His own "Alexander Haig" moment.
The NORC study sponsored by a consortium of newspapers and
news organizations which reviewed the Florida ballots was to have
been released that week. It was held up until December and only
released after a worldwide uproar over the suppression of it. Contrary
to what the New York Times and most (but not all) of the
consortium members reported, the study showed that Bush lost the
election under almost all scenarios. (ie dimpled chad, one, 2,. 3, 4
corners punched and so on.) You can download the data from:

A good archive of the controversy over the NORC study is at:

I wrote to John Broder at the New York Times at the time and
warned him of an attempt to create a permanent state of war. He
didn't really take me seriously. I went to the Washtenaw County
Democratic Party and tried to get a resolution against the attack
on Afghanistan introduced, and was told I couldn't speak. I went to
the rules committee to try to get a rule passed to allow a debate
and was told if I said one word I would be arrested and
physically removed.
Now alot of those same liberals are flocking to F9/11 LOL.
The lawyer-scrubbing of the film has made it acceptable to that
liberal audience. A mixed blessing at best.

So what could the alternative be? A non-profit news agency! I usually take most of what NPR and PBS reports as gospel, only because it's harder to hype things if you have brains and no budget. Of course, some still regard those forums as "the biased liberal media". hogwash.
Thanks for a good read, even though I 'spect you're preachin' to the choir 'round these here parts..
