Today I'm off to my uncle's funeral.
They're having an open coffin and then he's being cremated.
What is the idea behind open coffins, really??
This whole deal reminds me I've yet to visit my Grandma's grave, well, lot anyway (she was cremated too). Been meaning to for years.
I don't even know her name. How's that huh. Mom told me once but I can't remember.
Anyway, my uncle's will be interesting. Haven't seen my cousins for years and they're our closest family here in Oz.

open coffins disconcert me. i get that people want to physically see someone for the last time, but it's kind of strange when everyone's just kind of standing there staring. i hope you get to spend some quality time with your cousins, but i'm sorry it's under these circumstances
