Hiiiiiii........Merry festive season and a happy & glorious new year to you all.
It's been awhile but not from lack of trying. Tried to post four times but my compy would crash each time. Very frustrating! All is good now though, I have fixed my Mac and can finally experience the full use of this mac, woohoo!!
Anyway, what's been happening?? Well.......
Chops' birthday was on the 23rd Dec. Was s'posed to go see Kenny Ken play some wicked old skool jungle set and boogie my ass off but I couldn't leave my bro hanging on his birthday. My long awaited letting loose on the dance floor, besides headbanging, had to be postponed 'till further notice, damn! Anyway, Chops' birthday went off it's rocker. With us painting the city all manor of colours including red. We eventually ended up at Pony where a friend of ours was behind the bar and, little did we know, was serving us double shots of everything we ordered...at least. We didn't even notice which sums up the state we were in. Not to mention everytime one of us went to the bar he'd hand a shot of whatever they were having behind the bar to the lucky buyer. Messy, messy, messy!
We ended up back at Chops' drinking 'till 10-11am listening to Tenacious D's the pick of destiny album...magical & rad is all have to say about that, lol. That day though Chops had to go buy his christmas presents (hahhaha) & I had to have my family do. Yes, we had it on the 24th. Needless to say I showed up a bit late and a bit worse for wear but held my composure & had a fair amout of decorum considering. All was cool.
Good day in the end with everyone pretty stoked about the pressies I had bought them especially considering my siblings & I agreed not to buy anything for eachother this year and just focus on the neice & nephew (sister's kids). I couldn't help myself so I bought each couple, includung my folks, a lucky bamboo plant...
Must admit, it was one of, if not th cheapest christmas' (or is that christmasi) I can remember. Just the way it worked out. Mehh I'm not complaining. I recieved World of Warcraft. After a couple of hours playing it the next day I realise now what everyone is going on about, great game! Let me know if you're interested in what realm and character I am, etc.
New Year's Eve...damn!!!! What a night! *takes a deep breath*
We started off with precursor drinks, as you do, at Steve's which involved bookers - mentioned in a previous post to be the mad shit, so long as you can handle it! Hehehe. Then it was off to the Espy (Esplanade Hotel) where we met up with some more friends of ours. Ended up meeting alot of other friends there too who I least expected to see there which made the night more enjoyable none-the-less.
Drinking wise it was a no-holes-barred night being NYE and chatted to heaps of strangers just for the fun of it although not the longest of conversations ensued, hahahaaa. Three bands stood out for the night - 'Wolf & Cub', 'Peeping Tom' (Australian Band - they were before Mike Patton's), and 'Bjorn Bjork'...fuckin rockin bands I tellz ya! They all had great on-stage presence and rocked the crowd like you wouldn't believe. Wolf & Cub notably had two drummers and were reminiscient of Led Zepplin in their live performance, while Bjorn Bjork packed out the main area with people totally engrossed in the soulful playing they brought forth. Legendary! I saw 2007 come about in the middle of Peeping Tom's set which meant no fireworks but I had my friends and that's all that mattered. I shook the lead singer's hand after their set and complimented him & the rest of the band on an awesome set. They never fail to impress at each gig.
After all was said and done Slinky, Dave & I headed back to Steve's which was one of th messiest walks I've ever experienced and what seemed like the longest, ahhahaaa. We arrived to everyone asleep so we continued our merriment out on the balcony 'till, ummmm *scratches head* who knows when.
Great night to say the least! Much better than I had expected that's for sure.
Here's the only pic I took all night. It was on the way to the Espy with Dave's girly, Maree....
I really should remember to take more, though I don't remember many crew taking pics through the night, if any.
Hope all you out there had a wonderful New Year's and may 2007 be all sorts of awesome!
Will catch up with yaz all soon
