Happy Birthday to me
and Happy Valentine's Day to you......
Starting off........ it's been a very busy weekend. Getting my new border settled and working on the GARDEN! I tend to get lost in there for hours. I came along some one wanting to get rid of a dozen Industrial clones...... and I can't leave babies to die in the cold.
It's a sub strain of Northern Lights..... so we shall see what happens.
I had the sweetest birthday surprise from freakykitty....... it was very thoughtful and unexpected and made my day......... and thanks to those of you that have wished me a happy b-day....... It's nice to be thought of.
Now if you guys would all just come eat cupcakes with me. Cupcakes and booze.........White chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter icing. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD..........
so today a movie........ I'll be looking a little freaky to avoid germs in the outside world, but I want a coke zero and some popcorn...
and a thanks to harliquinne for the card.....
Time, you Bastard! What have you done to me?
"Our birthdays are feathers in the broad wing of time."
- Jean Paul Richter
(The broad wing of time is infested with mites and avian flu... )
"Let us celebrate the occasion with wine and sweet words."
- Plautus
(I've run out of wine... yet I've got plenty of whine.)
"Birthdays? yes, in a general way;
For the most if not for the best of men:
You were born (I suppose) on a certain day:
So was I: or perhaps in the night: what then?"
- James Kenneth Stephen
(Yes... "Two tears in a bucket, mother****it!")
"From our birthday, until we die,
Is but the winking of an eye."
- William Butler Yeats
(And I've had the most annoying twitch to compound things...)
"There are three hundred and sixty-four days when you might get un-birthday presents ... and only one for birthday presents, you know."
- Lewis Carroll
(How about some un-joint pain, OKAY???)
"Old age: A great sense of calm and freedom. When the passions have relaxed their hold, you may have escaped, not from one master but from many."
- Plato
(I assure you my most prevalent and persistent master was still here to greet me this morning upon my awakening... )
"the birthday of my life
Is come, my love is come to me."
- Christina Georgina Rossetti
(Yes, and I can finally throw away my tooth brush.)
"No wise man ever wished to be younger."
- Jonathan Swift
(BULLSHIT.)
"One of the signs of passing youth is the birth of a sense of fellowship with other human beings as we take our place among them."
- Virginia Woolf
"... And in the land of the dead, the living are trespassers."
"The greatest comfort of my old age, and that which gives me the highest satisfaction, is the pleasing remembrance of the many benefits and friendly offices I have done to others."
- Marcus Cato
(I find myself, upon this moment, mulling over pleasing remembrances of the many friendly orifices... never mind. )
"May you live all the days of your life."
- Jonathan Swift
(WORD!)
"Let's get it on... "
- Marvin Gaye
(any takers?)
