Gas is $2.09/gallon. They will not raise our mileage pay. Sorcha is not pleased.
I've had a wonderful evening. I'd forgotten how much I love to create.
Well, that's a lie. I just haven't sewed in so long that I'd forgotten how much I love to create outfits. I'm always doing something creative.
Anyway, I sat in my uber-comfy recliner and cut out the pattern pieces for my Prom outfit. Gomez sat on the arm of the recliner, leaning against my arm, and chased the little bits of onion paper as I balled them up and threw them.
I watched "Queer As Folk", and then it switched to Blue Velvet. Rules of Attraction is on next. I've never seen it, so I'll probably watch that as I continue cutting material.
I have to go back to the fabric store tomorrow. I knew something was wrong when I left the store. It turns out I only got enough material for the skirt and sleeves. I need to get another yard or so for the bodice. Oops.
Sewing with a cat is tiring. He loves to get a running start and then jump and slide on the fabric. This causes the fabric to slide with him, bunching it at the end of the table. Since this is SATIN and ORGANZA, I'm deathly afraid he's going to snag it with his claws. So, for now, the cutting room is verboten. He is not a happy kitty.
Tough.
I'll definitely have lots of pictures after this weekend. My Prom date has a digital camera, so I'll bother him for a CD of images. I'm also bringing my 35mm and a ton of high-speed film.
Since many of you asked (or will ask) what it looks like: black satin skirt with black organza overlay (ballgown skirt design), black satin bodice that ties in front and has a slight corset fit, attached satin/organza sleeves to match the skirt. My roommate called it my "vampire ballgown".
Ciao.
