Home sweet home

And this was taken this morning:

As I was telling SYH around December of last year, I really want to live somewhere like that again. I miss plows going by every hour or two. I miss hearing chains on tires. I miss sledding down streets that get closed off during the winter. I miss holing up inside with some good friends, board games, and cards while the wind rages outside and the firewood crackles and pops in the fireplace. I miss buying groceries for a month instead of a few days.
I miss having my northern blood soothed and stroked by the icy winds and blowing snow. If there was ever any doubt of my ancestry, it's always shooed away between November and April.
Give me dark, cold evenings with a sky full of stars and the aurora borealis, and I'm a happy girl.
**Footnote: This is Marquette, MI, where I used to live, on the first snowy night this year. Ann Arbor has only had a few flurries so far.
