Formed from the remains of seventies progressive rock giants, YES, Emerson, lake and palmer, King Crimson, and The Buggles (video killed the radio star) 1982 brought us the self titled release of Asia. Proving that these virtuosos, would not be relugated to just being art rockers, the first single "heat of the moment", showed pure pop genius in the face of their ecclectic and experimental pasts.
Though still not afraid to show off there talents, there debut album, still packed a few insturmental numbers, showing off the members individual musical brilliance.
1983 brought us "ALPHA" which yielded such memorable hits "dont cry" and "the smile has left your eyes.
Unfortuanatly, their followup Astra, did not do as well as anticipated, and ASIA disbanded in 1985.
1990 saw a runeun tour with the badn, including two sold out nights in Moscow, a wonderful coda, for a band sadly missed.

Since nobody knows TC5, and Smashmouth is not much more than a bad joke....we must clutch on to Doobie pride. It's all we've got.
I'm loving these.
