I've heard of Two Gallants from somewhere before, but I admit I'm guilty of never really giving them a chance. The folk duo from San Francisco are signed to indie label Saddle Creek here in Omaha, so it's fitting they stop through to play the label's new music venue/bar The Slowdown the other night with Against Me!. Here's a band you definitely have to see live to really appreciate. Now I'm going back and giving them another listen, and I think the biggest problem with their albums, IMHO, is that they are overproduced. These guys clearly know how to play their instruments well, why cover it up with ProTools-esqe production.
I don't know though. I get this feeling that I'm wrong. I'm going to go pick up their last album and give them a proper listen.
If you see this band come through your town, I'd recommend you check them out.
By the way, Against Me! was just fucking awesome. I really can't get enough of them.

Death's comin' and he's still running. And stuff.
Seriously, Age of Assassins on that record is probably my favorite song of 2006. It was a bit of a theme song, if you will.
