Frank Frazetta is a fucking badass.
It's not ultra modern in it's style, most of it harks back to the days of Vampirella and Conan. A style that I normally couldn't give two shits about, but when taken in the context of a predecessor to artists like Coop. It's absolutely amazing.
Looking through his work I can't help but wonder how much of his art has influenced our culture, by shaping the dreams, ideas, and fantasys of young people growing up. How many things we see in our everyday life are extensions of things like this that have been rattling around our heads for the past 20 years.
Spartans?
A new hope?
And one, I just think is cool.
