Okay..so I went and seen two movies this weekend. Predator and The Last Airbender.
Predator; Was a pretty good movie, a little light on the action given the history of the movies and comics, but a bit more of a thriller. Adrien Brody plays the lead, and he does a pretty good job, even if he is trying to talk with a deeper raspier voice than normal. The comic relief is played by the guy who was "Shane" in "The Sheild" and he was good. It was a pretty good movie, good story, plot, and acting...just not a lot of action. Topher was pretty good and has some cool moments, but for the most part..you can tell within the first couple of minutes, who is going to make it and who isn't. Really, the R rating is more for language than it is for gore or violence.
The Last AIrbender; Well, I went into this with mixed feelings, I've read the reviews which weren't good but figured I would give it a shot. I'm a big fan of the cartoon and of the 5 or so main characters. The movie moves through the first "book" really quickly, the camera work was a little sloppy, the acting was pretty bad, but the special effects were pretty good. I'm hoping that Mr. M. Night, learns from this one and works on the other installments. It really doesn't pick up and reach it's own, until the final 10 minutes or so..then it's over. To be honest..I'd wait for it to come out on video or bootleg (which I know is wrong and illegal)
Check out Crazies. That was alright.
