I'm back in LA. In my hotel room with the kids. They're zonked on the beds. The little one and I went to the store and grabbed the foods n such for the weekend. We're making sandwiches for lunches tomorrow. I believe we're going to hit the Getty first, as I would rather hit Griffith for the sunset or near sunset. Or whichever is closer to City Walk last. After those 2, it was suggested by my many linked good friend/brother that we hit up Universal City Walk for the Nintendo DSi launch event. Both the kids love Nintendo stuff, so I figure it would be a really good surprise to pop on them. I'm in no way getting them DSi's, but some cool schwag would be awesome. I can't wait. I'm planning on taking TONS of pics tomorrow.

Today was weird, and then really frustrating at the end. I got to work relatively early. And I proceeded to do basically NOTHING all day. Then it turns out that the 2 people that could sign our paychecks were both out. Luckily we have loving people with hearts, and they drove to Irvine while my boss drove up from San Diego to sign our paychecks. Very cool and big props to them. As well as a HUGE stress reliever. Then as the day is winding down and about to wrap up, a client calls DEMANDING his data. Claiming that he ordered it on Monday and that if he doesn't have it today, he's up shit creek as his end of the deal is due Sunday. So naturally I had to fast track the shots that he wanted. Luckily it was only 2. Unluckily it was also saved in a software package that was newer than what I had. So I couldn't open them. I had to bug the dev team for a newer version of the software, installed it and proceeded to finish my end of the work.
Yeah, you thought that was all. No no no...... So it turns out that the importer that we use between packages is ALSO not updated, and there's no running or working version that would help us. So the files were saved out in a version that we knew would work, and I had to start over from scratch. Only the data really sucked bad, and it was going to take me at least 5x longer to finish. Thankfully one of my co-workers found a workaround and I didn't have to re-work the files. If its one of my peeves, its that I absolutely HATE having to do the same work twice. Soooo frustrating.
Immediately following work I had to drive to the house, drop of rent, pack for the weekend, and then drive about an hour to San Juan Capistrano to pick up the kids. Thats our half way meeting point between LA and San Diego. Then had to drive the same time back.

I am always amazed when I come back on the 73 at night. You're high enough in the hills that you can see all of Irvine below. And on clear nights you can see straight into LA. Tonight we were lucky enough to see some fireworks going off in the distance. It might have been Disneyland. Not sure though. But it was cool. I always mean to stop on the side of the road and take some pictures, but I never do. I'm always in a rush, or too tired. One day though.....
Ok, wrapping this up now and heading to bed soon. Ciao peeps.
