I wanted to say THANKS again to everyone that wished me a happy bday. It was nice of ya'll.
What did I do on my special day, you ask? Not a god damn thing, and it was PERFECT.
For all who are not in the know, I don't really celebrate my birthday. To me, its nothing but a number. I mean seriously. Its fine and all for the kids, but at our age, its pretty much meaningless. To me anyhow. Now I can see maybe doing the big Decade marks, but other than that? Meh.
So I've decided to cut out wheat and HFCS from anything that I eat or drink. I don't have anything diagnosed, but I can say with certainty that wheat/gluten products make me all bloaty and gross. So I'm cuttin it all out. And worry not, I can easily buy beer still (Redbridge, Greens). And as far as I know, I can still drink distilled stuff like the scotches I so adore. And yeah, I'll have the occasional guinness or something. Because one should NEVER turn their back on the ol' dark n tastey.
Thanks to a recommendation from DarkRiver, I have found a nice little genre of music to explore. Thanks! While listening to the recommendation, I did like a couple of songs, but not all. Maybe it'll grow on me. I did out of pure chance re-find an old band that I had started getting into waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in early high-school, and I need to catch up on them. Neurosis. And thanks to Last.fm I have also found Isis which I think needs exploring as well.
Thanks to m0ngrel, I have been listening to, and keep coming back to his Pandora station entitled "cattledog radio". Blues, a little bit of old country and other styles streaming into your ear. I love it!! And I've never taken the time to listen to any Tom Waites before, but in listening to this station I should have done it years ago. Gotta love that grovelly voice. SPEAKING OF.....Chad, you might like Neurosis. The singer on these newer albums sounds a lot like Tom.
Last but not least, I want to thank all the beautiful women that adorn this site as well as my friends list. Thank you for being YOU, and allowing a little bit of me into your online lives.
And with that, I bid thee adieu.
Gute Nacht.
