Been a few weeks. I've been fairly busy, at least on the weekends when I usually have time to update this thing. But thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!
So one thing I didn't mention about that night I was put with my friends? That Nick and I sat in my car for like an our in his driveway talking about his father, who was pretty sick; he had been diabetic all his life, and it's really taken a turn for the worse the last few years.. My father died five years ago, so we were talking about that sort of stuff. He said they still had a couple years out of him. Well, I was back down the next weekend for the wake and funeral. He and his family are doing alright, as well as can be expected; they'll get through it.
Last weekend my brother was home from school, so we were doing some hanging out. And that brings us up to date.
I've started working out. I can tell I've leaned up a bit, even though it's only been a week and a half. I still have a long way to go; my goal is to lose about 50-60 pounds and end up between 180 and 190. At least I can see progress.
Saw Gogol Bordello at the Roxy on Thursday. If you haven't seen 'em, I recommend it. One of the best shows I've been to. I don't think I've ever seen a band look like they're having more fun on stage than them.
Oh, and this is a big sports weekend for me. So if my teams do some winning, prepare for some gloat.
