The holidays suck.
People/customers exasperate me. They drain me physically, emotionally, and mentally on a daily basis. As soon as the clock starts ticking, I have to muster up the gumption to act as if I'm genuinely interested in what they have to say. In what they have to show for. In what they have to pay, and in what they bring to the table, I guess.
I wish I could just do like I always do, just sit in the back of wherever I am, in a secluded corner preferably, read a book, listen to music, fuck with my shoelaces, anything... And simply take in everything and mind my own business. I don't think anyone has ever caught shit for simply minding their own business. I don't think there's really a "wrong" way to go about it.
So if I like your shirt, your taste in music, think you're pretty, dig your tattoo or piercings, your vintage 1984 Adidas with sparkly green laces, the fact that you like music better on vinyl, or whether or not you agree that Go is, in fact, much harder than Chess... I'll let you know... And you can be assured that I'm not bullshitting simply for the sake of making chit-chat, for feeling the need to fill empty silence with conversation to make myself feel better.
Whether or not you think I'm a dork for saying so is your own business, I guess. It's your perogative. It wouldn't be the first time.
You'd be surprised how many people seem personally offended by random compliments.
Off to sleep now. Or not. Off to a cigarette definitely, though.
Hope everyone's doing well... No... Scratch that. I hope you all are fucking outstanding.
