So, as you know I went to St. Croix to visit my dear friend (whom I haven't seen in about 3 years). I was excited about the trip, albeit I was going alone so I knew I would be left to my own devices for the majority of the trip. The pictures indicate that I had a FABULOUS time, and although I did have a few opportunities to capture the beauty of the caribbean, I feel that I overpaid to basically be bored for most of my time there.
Corinne and her boyfriend both had to work, therefore I was left alone in the apartment (without air and with 100 degree 90% humid heat). I couldn't walk around because the area is pretty sketchy and only a few blocks away from a street known to the locals as "crack row". Awesome, eh? The beach that was within walking distance of her apartment was known to give people staff infections, so I couldn't go there.
The last night of my trip I could tell things were tense between her and her boyfriend. I found out that my suspicious were correct when they proceeded to get rip-roaring drunk, he left her at the bar... she drove drunk home and then they screamed at each other for at least an hour. I felt like I was in the middle of a domestic disturbance call on COPS. He chucked a beer bottle at her, slicing open her finger and possibly breaking it. Good lord.
So I'm home now... and I couldn't be happier to be here.
The best day of my "vacation" came when I was already home. My BF and I traveled to the Hershey gardens to see some of the most beautiful sights ever. The butterfly house was amazing!!
If I ever get married... it's happening here!
So it looks like I didn't even need to leave to have a great vacation... <3
Additionally, I went to the camera shop to see if they could fix my Yashica 635...
but thankfully my Zeiss still works!!! I recently inherited both, so I'm excited to use them after at least ten to twenty years of no one using them!
Tschs!

P.S. Thinking about it, since dying my hair I have been making nothing but Thai food. I'm so Asian now.
