Now, I'm all for horror movies, of all kinds. Preferably newer ones, because maybe it's just me, but old ones are kind of corny. Like, who decided Jaws was scary? That doesn't even belong in the genre of horror or even scary - but it scared the shit out of people when in came out.....but that's just an example. That being said, I love watching remakes. I saw the Halloween remake when it came out, and I thought it was pretty good. Not epic, but it worked. I'm watching Halloween II remake now..and whatthefuck?
Adding to this when the movies done. Ugh.

Oh yeah, I agree - there are a lot of good classics. There's a lot that are just cheesy comparably, but you can find good ones. I just prefer new ones. New technology makes some better...but it's like making a movie out of a book. Some peoples view or take on things just isn't the same. Sometimes it takes away from what makes it good. Same with sequels. For example, I loved the first 4 Saw movies...after that, they kind of killed it. Sometimes you have to quit while your ahead.

I think people are just becoming numb to the violence and gore. Past generations werent accustomed to seeing this much carnage in movies & thats why those movies were so scary to us. I think most of the old movies are pretty cheesy too. I loved the Howling movies back in the day & I remember Children of the Corn being so scary, now its not even remotely scary. It takes a lot more to scare people these days. Im really looking forward to Paranormal Activity 2; hopefully it will be just as good as the 1st.
