Working out is... a lot of work.
September 1 marks my one year anniversary with my company. Hopefully that comes with a (favorable) review and a (substantial) increase in salary. I know I deserve it. My boss thinks so - which is good 'cause he writes the reviews, even if he doesn't control the increases - and I know our Creative Director wants to put me in to full-time graphics. How convinced am I that it will happen? It's like a Magic 8-Ball stuck on one side:
"Outlook hazy. Ask again later."
The best things seem happen to me and then get I'm passed up for others. Knowing that I could make it happen is frustrating because as much as I know it's possible, my knowledge of my own habits tell me that I won't take any of those steps or follow through if I start down that path. Is this self sabotage? Defeatism? Or is it reality? How do you break that cycle?
In other news, if you don't have plans for Labor Day Weekend, we should talk.

Never let opportunity pass you by, you never know where it leads. Be bold.
