So my girl and my boss are both sick with bronchitis and my boss has developed pneumonia as well. GailStorm is currently feeling like lots of no good, and my boss seems to be recovering as he is home from the hospital. Yes, I said hospital. I don't feel the least bit sick, except from not taking my meds yesterday. And that's just in the head.
Go get you some wellness, people. I miss my GailStorm. And Boss, you just need to be better so you're not so damn grumpy next week.
On the bright side of sick boss is my availability to work on more graphics-centric projects at work, which means I've been doing spec work for a couple of agencies and some title cards for some Comcast commercials. The spec work was more fun. Tomorrow and Friday I'll be doing titles & supers for a corporate video, with the finished product being polished off next Tuesday.
I like that type of work. It's more along the lines of what I want to do than what I am doing currently. And, my boss' boss - a prime coordinator for our facility - referred to me as "one of our designers" today when introducing me to an interviewee. That's a step up (for me) from "assistant editor" in case you're unsure of the significance that carries.
Time for some wine. I'll be breaking open a bottle of the Gallo Family's 2002 Reserve Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. It's a new venture for me; I typically have a white merlot. This is supposed to be decent, and I've liked the other Gallo Family wines I've tried. Wish you were here to have a glass with me.

PS: These issues haven't gone away. The former, sorry to say, is much more important than the latter.
