This week has left me oddly drained, and tonight I elected to stay home, somewhat uncharacteristically. Thus, a minor update.
American Psycho
This was first released when I was visiting my uncle over spring break in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. We went to see it in the theater; midway through the film we were interrupted by power failures. Once, twice, thrice and we left; I'd never taken the time to re-watch it until lately, at smirkingatyou's suggestion. While it was an interesting movie, I didn't understand it at first, and went looking for an explanation as the subtleties and seeming irresolution left me with many questions. If you've seen it and felt similarly, I found my answers in this Cinephiles analysis which has definitely clarified my viewing of the film and additionally has enabled me to respect it much more than I'd've been able to otherwise.
On a related note, should you ever require a topic of interest to fill the silence between us, I thoroughly enjoy the viewing, analysis and discussion of films.
Next on the viewing reel: Steamboy.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
On to American Psycho, the book does a much better job of telling the story though the movie is bizarre enough to make you wonder how many people you walk by on the street are just like him.
