You can do anything yah want, as long as you want to do it. Hope you have a good time at your party.

Things have been pretty good. Had a guy yesterday that got bit by the police dog...looked like a zombie bite. lesson learned, if they say the dog is coming...just give up...no matter what

i know what you mean about uncontrollable drinking. i don't know when to stop most of the time. i'd say let commiserate, but then we'd be drinking more than we should! stay strong.

Rehab for whatever reason this time around will be less expensive, which really helps and makes me happy. And i...

I commented on Porphyria's blog before you tongue

I wish you the best of luck with rehab. You can still write me if you get board in there.

I ate a giant piece of pizza with penne pasta on it and now I'm watching Battle Royale before bed. This should make for some interesting dreams. Have a good weekend.

So, without time to read back through your 9 years of blogs, the important stuff is:

* Does your current level of alcohol consumption interfere with daily function? It doesn't sound like it.
* Does alcohol help you, as in, self-medicate? Because although it's probably not the best medication, it's not the worst, in moderation, either. It sounds like it does.
* Then there is the demonstrated fact that light alcohol consumption (1-2 drinks per day) of any kind is good for you.

So maybe there should be some alcohol in your life.

So then, there's diet. Blood sugar and insulin and all that is basically determine whether you have food cravings, as in the kind of hunger that makes you think about food all the time. Low carb diets dramatically reduce cravings, but Person A may need to stay on something like Atkins induction in order to be "bored with food" while Person B might do the same with 100-200 grams of low-glycemic index carbs per day. It varies. One thing for sure, though, a 1200 calorie low-FAT diet, which is the typical WW/JC plan, is very, very difficult for most people to maintain.

If you are able to get a couple hours of low-intensity exercise per day, walking or something similar, that could be very helpful. Low-intensity exercise (200-400 cal/hr) does actually burn enough calories to make a difference in a diet, if you do it long enough and often, but it stays within the window where your body is able to produce those calories from fat, or from carbs that you have recently consumed. Low-intensity exercise will not make you super hungry. (But high intensity exercise, like running, cycling, swimming, definitely well.)

Blah blah blah, hope you had a nice alcohol evening. smile I like alcohol. There's just no denying it. Fortunately, I don't like too much of it, too often.

I'm taking Effexor. Trying to keep my head from going crazy right now. I was having a hard time the day before my shift started getting really bad anxiety. I've never had anxiety like that...only time I have it is crossing bridges and being around really tall buildings. SF makes me a little nervous every time I go there. Anyways yah I have been hot and sweaty way more than normal. Mavenist is already alot more cold blooded than me so I'm used to being a little hot, but since I started the Rx I feel like I'm getting a guys version of hot flashes. I was told it should fade with time. So I hope by the end of summer it will be back to normal..

hmmm so haven't drank for over a week. and i've lost five pounds, this could be due to that or the laxatives or both. because i've barely lost weight since i've been on weight watchers when i enter in my weight on my weigh in day my points go up because i've not lost weight consistently enough. may have a drink this weekend with a...

You might try a low carb diet. It definitely reduces the hunger you feel from eating less, and it's definitely more compatible with depression.

Alcohol-wise, if you are drinking half a bottle of vodka a day (for example) that's about 750 calories just from the alcohol, so that's an impediment to weight loss. If you can manage with half that, not so bad. If you are drinking sugary cocktails, that's WAY more calories, plus the problematic carbs, which basically make you hungrier. If you can decide you like something like diet tonic + gin/vodka, or meyers's and diet coke, or even dry wine, well, that's something!

Low-fat calorie-restricted WW/JC-ish diets are pretty difficult for men to maintain and are often hugely difficult for women to maintain.

Just my $.02.
