I have a private journal that I use to track stuff in my life. It really helps me maintain perspective and is super useful for those times my depression is a giant asshole about everything. Looking back over the last week and even a little bit farther, I see this pattern of feeling content, empowered, productive, and just generally happy.

I had a super productive...

That Hardwick fella seems like the best kind of friend. Keep on keeping on, Wil.

I hate that people forget that celebrities are people too!  Every time I meet one I've been wanting to meet, I make sure I treat them like they're normal people.  I ask them how they're enjoying whatever event it is that we're at, etc.  I've found while doing so, many of them are just so grateful to be talked to like a normal human.  Also, you were very much missed (at least by me) at Comic Con.  You should come back to Denver because @trevor and I still owe you a beer!

Today, I complete my 44th trip around the Sun. It’s only taken me a little over 16,000 days, so my pace is pretty solid.

Most birthdays since I turned 30 have just been another X in the box, more or less, but this one is the first since I made a deliberate choice to reboot my life, so now I can clearly and honestly...

This thing I’m working on has lived in my head for about a year, so it’s kind of stale and not as interesting to me as it was when I had the idea. But I decided that writing and finishing what I start is really important, just like knowing the difference between “I’m bored with this” and “this is genuinely not good” when assessing whether...

Sometimes I guess it isn't about the quantity of work but the process towards the finished quality. But what the hell do I know I'm just a silly Canadian dude with no artistic talent whatsoever 😂

@wilwheaton I just wanted to say, "Happy Birthday".  I know things have been kind of down for you lately, and I know exactly what it's like.  If you ever (and I really mean this) need an ear to bend, just send me a message! All I do lately is sit here on my couch making cosplays.  So I'm basically free a lot!

Have you seen Michael Moore’s post about how Trump is going to win, and if so, your thoughts?

It’s a useful call to arms that everyone who is #BernieOrBust needs to hear and think about.

I’ve made it really clear that Bernie Sanders is who I wanted for my president, and I did what I could to make that happen … but he didn’t get...

This put all of the things I was thinking perfectly into words. Im SO terrified of a Trump presidency and I think that lack of unity between the democratic party gives him the biggest chance of winning.

I don't actively dislike Hillary.  She's just too polarizing.  But, she is nowhere near as corrupt and out of touch as Trump.  No hesitation voting for her when disaster is the alternative.

We looked at eleven million games, and playtested ninety-six thousand games, for season four of Tabletop.

The exact order that we’re releasing episodes and the exact timeline for the release isn’t set yet, and it isn’t up to me, but here are the games we’ve settled on for Tabletop Season Four:

  • Lanterns
  • Fury of Dracula
  • Mysterium
  • Code Names (with six players for maximum funtimes)
  • FATE...

I had this epiphany at the beginning of September: This thing that I’m doing? This series of choices I make every day? It isn’t working. I don’t like the way I feel, I don’t like the way I look, I don’t like the things I’m doing. Things need to change.

So I took a long, hard, serious look at myself, and concluded that some things...

This is excerpted and adapted from a speech I gave at Miami University, titled Stop Hitting Yourself: We Need To Talk About Bullying.

There are a very few absolute truths in human existence, but I will discuss a couple of them today, starting with the fundamental truth from which everything else springs: everyone here, and every single human with whom we share this planet, wants...

@marceline The Four Agreements is a very big part of the foundation of my rules for life. I'm not even a little bit religious, and that book changed me for the better in so many ways!
damian_stark:
I used to think to myself, "I wish I had been a dick back then. That shit might not have bothered me so much." I realized some time ago that I WAS a dick. I was sullen. Silent. Never stood up for myself. I did not forgive and I did not give others a chance. I was a reverse bully. So, "Be kind. Not just to others, but to yourself," strikes home for me. I'm late, but at least it wasn't never.

I posted a thing on my dumb Tumblr thing about how awful the Stallone Judge Dredd movie was, and a lot of people asked me if I'd seen the 2012 Dredd with Karl Urban. I hadn't, and didn't intend to, for reasons that will become clear shortly. So many people recommended it to me, though, and it had such a great group of creative people...

You know, this is just my opinion, but I think reboots happen because my "generation" doesn't appreciate older movies. Everything has to be cgi and crap to be good now. It sucks. Example my coworker is 18, she and I watched Dark Crystal together. She hated it, why, the effects were bad. They're supposed to be, it's from the early 90s or something.... it's also the best movie from when I was a kid too.
baalseraph:
Every word you wrote is exactly what I would have said (or wrote). The 2012 Dredd is a very, very good movie, far better than the crappy pice of shit they threw at us in the 90s. I really like Sylvester Stallone, but Judge Dredd was friggin' awful! And I was as sceptical as you are towards the 2012 remake and for the same reasons, but I never regretted watching it.
