The blog post that became a short story that became a novella that is almost a novel was a lot of fun to work on today. I wrote a scene that needs to be inserted into the narrative like 15000 words ago, because I realized that it’s part of a narrative thread that needs more to happen, so that it can payoff a little closer...

I find it very, VERY hard to write outside of chronological order so props to you for making the leap!

Thanks for the advice.  That has been a hang up of mine as well for quite some time.

1644 words (46437 total) on all We Ever Wanted Was Everything

Wrote two scenes that will probably get cut, or will be put into a different place in the story. I’m at a point where I have to write what the heart wants to write, so I can keep going, though, so I’m filling up pages to give myself something to edit when this draft...

After just 500 word yesterday, this is close to where I want to be with my daily output, and I’m 100% right back into it with this draft.
I feel like it’s going to wrap...

John Doe, co-founder of X, published an oral history of the Los Angeles punk scene last year, and I'm just getting around to listening to the audiobook. It's AMAZING.

He got a bunch of people who were there in the 70s and 80s, from Exene Cervenka to Jane Weidlin to Henry Rollins to Jack Grisham and more to tell their stories.

Under the Big...

This Thursday to Saturday, I'll be in Seattle for the Emerald City Comic Con. I'm signing stuff all three days, from 11 to 1, then again during various times in the afternoon. I'm also doing fancy photos every day (the schedule will be at the con).

If you're there, come and say hello!

I'm so angry, I can hardly put to words together. So I'm just going to say that this isn't normal, this isn't okay, and it is entirely preventable.

But we are a nation that is governed by cowards who are complicit in every gun-related death in this country.

Hug the people you love, especially if you live in America, because we are a fucking bloodbath...

Didnt realise that youd had so many shootings already; think i heard 18 already this year. Thinking of all those that have been affected by them.

Super agree, very sad. It's too bad the only people who can make meaningful change on the subject are being paid not to.

Like, it doesn't even have the story that Dragon Age had, and I'm not invested in my character or any of the other characters at all ... but motherfucker it's got me like a drowd.

More than once this week, I thought I'd play for a little bit, explore and maybe complete a quest or whatever ... and then BAM it's two fucking thirty in...

That's how I've been with Zelda on the Switch. Incredible game. Skyrim might have to be a purchase too though at some point.

It's easy to be 300+ hours deep into Skyrim and never touch the main story line since the opening sequence.

I was thinking about reinstalling Rock Band again recently, but I decided that, even though I really loved playing it back in the day, I am at a point in my life where I would rather spend that time actually learning an instrument, instead. I have played bass guitar and ukulele in the past. I also played guitar in the way that every lame college...

There's not really an age limit on learning. It's probably a really good form of exercise to get in to as you get older, actually. Drumming is a really good work out for your body and your brain and you'll find yourself engaging parts of you that you weren't expecting. If you have a natural sense of rhythm then just get going really. Learn by doing. My two best friends are drummers, one self taught, one by lessons. They're both great, both have very different styles and skill sets there's really no right way to do something. If you like the sounds you produce then you're doing an instrument correctly.

Spotify was like, "hey i think you will like this" and I'm all "you don't know me! you're not my real dad!"

But holy shit, Spotify. I am so sorry. You were dead right.

I want to revisit this idea I had a few weeks ago. I think it would be awesome and fun to play D&D with up to 5 SG models who love the game as much as I do. I'll run the adventure, and we'll stream it live on one of the interesting streaming sites, whether that is Twitch or Mixer or Facebook or YouTube or...
