They sure can be babies. He shouldn't be embarressed and just do what he can and try and make the days and time go by as fast as possible till the leg is fine again. Hopefully it will pass soon and he'll get back to being less whiny. I'm just like you someone who takes care of others and yes - you get drained from it so you have to put a limit to it now and then.
