Hi everybody -

So I've got 1 day in London. What do I do?

Thanks,
Niko

Go Piccadilly Circus train station, you got a theatre district near there as well as lots of shops and places to eat. If you want relaxation, Hyde Park is very nice to go to but will be at a different train station.

Thanks for the info - my friend took me out to Camden last night, I wandered near Buckingham Palace in the morning, and am stuck in Watford for the next couple of nights. My only pocket of time is Wednesday where I have a solid day off.

It was funny that this one group of drunk guys were wanting me to basically say things as a novelty and one of the guys thought I was Australian.

It's been a good 48 hours so far - I love England!

Any other suggestions? I'm game for anything.

Hi SG land -

I dropped off the site for a bit but am back since I couldn't resist all the lovely ladies and awesome group discussions!

How have I been? Well, I could be better to be honest. I was with somebody and we were really close but it all blew up last weekend and am not even sure how things went so horribly...

It's been a while again tongue This one is sort of long so I've broken it up by location:

So..... I got back from Seattle a few weeks ago. That was an amazing trip.

__PORTLAND__
Before Seattle, I flew out to Portland and hung out with some of my old friends from way back when. I stayed at the Marriott on the water front and have...

So this week was pretty random.

I didn't get much sleep for a majority of the week, I went to a bunch of different bars and restaurants, and now I'm just kicking it. It's raining so I guess it's a good night to stay in. The worst is when you're accustomed to going out then on a down night, you're like, "What the hell? Shouldn't...

Hi all a' ya'll out in SG land!

The past few weeks have been busy. Trying to juggle a couple of classes and full time work isn't easy to say the least - being a grown up sucks! I've been going out but not as much as I would like since I'm taking these classes and have a lot of labs, assignments, and tests pretty...

Totally want to learn how to speed read! Thanks for the link, mister!
trifektorlabs:
@Lyxzen - Awesome! I hope you do it !

My little study tip (and it involves alcohol too!):
After a few days, I'm absolutely happy with my quick progress with the lame but challenging exercises. If you do get the software:
1) Do the exercises, then:
2) Grab a drink (optional but much more fun) and don't read anything for a half hour or so - I'll catch an episode of whatever anime or Seinfeld I may be watching, then:
3) Find a random book you have laying around, open to any page and speed read a few paragraphs then ask yourself what you just read.

Smiles,
Niko

Ah - homework and wine on a Sunday night. It's been a crazy first week up here... I'm definitely getting my bearings about my immediate area. Overall, 5th & 6th Street are to be avoided after dark but everywhere else beyond 7th/Market is golden.

Some City Survival skillz I've learned:
1) Hailing a cab:
I've never really had to hail a cab before so this...

Well, what hasn't happened since that last post?

In a nutshell:
1) I switched departments at work so now I'm a corporate operations engineer (which is a fancy word for IT support) and was promoted late last year
2) I moved from Redwood City to Milpitas and now am in San Francisco
3) I downsized my studio :-(
4) My band (see my status sentence...

It's been a while since the last update - I'm a total once in a while blogger I guess tongue

Anyway, since the last update:

* Finished some recording classes and recorded a rockabilly/grunge type thing for a project - turned out pretty good considering I've never mixed/mastered any large scale subjects. Previously, I recorded just the main artist who did drums and guitar. After a...

I've been taking a recording class and it has been really awesome! I've been learning a ton of stuff and getting a better handle on Pro Tools (industry standard recording software). Tomorrow, I have my first session! I'm recording a rockabilly/grunge type of band. It should be pretty rad and am looking forward to making a great product. Attached to this blog is a picture...

Update....

Things are going decent in terms of recording - I've been writing and playing little loops. I haven't made as much progress as I would like because my lousy 9-5 gets in the way wink

Actually, work has been rather busy. I work in an IT field (mostly network servers) and have been getting into development testing on new upcoming hardware. I also have been...
