well the file (which came from the company we are doing the project for) has finally been loaded into the sql 2000 database and matched up against the data entry people's input.

ah, *relaxes* it's all downhill from here, match ssn, check weight, email for reweighing, and wham a department laid off cause of a weeks worth of automation efforts by yours truely.

bah, *kicks excel* damn you for only being able to handle about 65,000 records.

100,000 records in a file I need to load so that 400lb fat men don't fall off of telephone poles and lie about their weight.

and would the file be formatted in a nice and easy manner, No of course not, it gets to have random commas and odd spacing distributed...

Yay! real internet access, not syphoning it off a neightbor with their poorly locked down wireless.

we have a wireless setup, with 2 laptops sitting on that, and a server room 5 more machines in it (plus another machne in the library) all in all it's looking pretty nice (just need to finish tweaking some boxes and it will be all good)
