People don't fundamentally change. As someone I used to work with once said, "You can only polish a turd so much - it's still a turd". If you start with someone who's not a good person, no matter how much you try to "polish" them or change them, you might have surface success, surface "polish" but in reality you will never really change them - they're still a "turd". I think this is the mistake a lot of people make, honestly, not just women. I made it - I thought I could change my ex, thought I was dealing with a diamond in the rough too. I thought she was fundamentally good inside... maybe she is, but I was unable to affect any real change, and that's the trick - YOU will naver really change anyone, they need to do it themselves.

mmkay you dont need to be an asshole. I was engaged to one of those "bad boy " types and it was the biggest mistake ever! I also dated a "nice guy" for a long while, and that just got boring.My new boyfriend is a bad boy type but he only brings it out when necissary. Hes shy and sweet but when he needs to kick ass he does. So I think you need to have a healthy medium of the two personalities. I know what that girl means by the diamond in the rough thing. Being a woman, you have very strong maternal instincts and when we see a man who is in trouble or could use guidance we have the instinct to save them or protect them. Every girl is different though.Always try to be the nice guy but every now and then try to bring out some bad ass. its very attractive
