I've been trying, but the new site just isn't growing on me. Agree fully the old site was a bit stale, but this is just too tablety, too much dead space around everything...gigantic f'n buttons....Account canceled, unless I have develop major motivation to stick around before I actually expire off in a month.

Been keeping busy with school (trying for a mid-life career change) and the occasional photography gig. This week I shot olympic gold medalist Paul Hamm for a gymnastics DVD.

Yikes. Almost 2 years since I've updated this. Well, not much has been going on. The overwhelming majority of stuff I've been shooting would be uninteresting here (youth sports) and I've been too busy to shoot much for fun.

Finally got around to finishing my college degree though, so I've got that going for me, which is nice...

Crazy amounts of photo shooting lately.

Sunday of last week I had a great time on a portfolio shoot with a very cool gal from Mayhem. Now that she's let me know which ones she likes, I've finished up the processing on a few.

Thurs throug Sat I spent shooting a figure skating competition that was in town. 8200 shots in 3 days.

From the...

I made a "set" out of a collection of pics I took a few weeks ago.

Keeping in mind I had no time to set up a cool background or tweak the lights for the cool short DOF shots. This shoot was done in about 20 minutes from wardrobe to wrapup.

I did not shoot these intending it to be an SG set - so...

Thank you for all that you wrote in the photography group. It really helps me understand more what those numbers mean and everything else. And it makes much more sense now. I wish I had your knowledge! smile

I like your practive shoot too. Your lighting looks great!

Thanks! I love your photos, if I ever decide to shoot another set, I'll definitely check to see if you're interested. smile

New toys.

I was pretty well geared up for the kinds of photo work I've been doing. I knew I'd be buying gear if/when I locked in some wedding work and/or trying a set for SG. In this case...wedding work.

New acquisitions:

28-75 / 2.8 lens. Previously didn't have anything that could shoot wide.

Flash bracket. Holds the flash a foot or so above the...

So. Been a while since I've updated this.

Haven't found a replacement "full time" job yet, but I've been working with the camera more lately. Done a number of youth and amateur sports for hire and/or on spec. Have a big tournament to shoot this weekend and a wedding in a couple of weeks.

Did some test runs with a few models in lingerie/glamour nudes...

That is one cool pic. Reminds me of the 80's. You have a good eye.

Well, my job fell victim to the economy last week. Got laid off after 14 years with the company. I've got my feelers out looking for something new, but I'm not in panic mode.

In the meantime, I'm putting more energy into some photography related things...both here around SG and elsewhere. Locally I'll be looking over and commenting on more sets than I have in...

Wow. Had my Nikon D700 for a couple of weeks now and put about 3500 shots on it. What an amazing piece to shoot with. An upgrade that I sorely needed.
