Hope all the most kick ass mamas I know have had a great Mother's Day!
It's been a very long weekend, with more time spent working than home, so I spent most of today with my little one and some family. Ithras has been at work too, and has training all next week. Hoping to sneak in a little visit with him tonight after the...

Had some crazy storms here last night, though we were not hit anywhere near as badly as other areas. The damage was limited to some wind damage that was mostly limited to downed trees and limbs. Those in the direct path of the storm weren't so lucky. I heard Catoosa County, GA was looking for volunteers to help sift through debris and look for survivors...

Happy baby birthday!
PS. Other than the wind damage, this blog makes me really happy.

It's been a crazy few weeks. Went to Savannah for a friend's wedding and got to go to the beach with the hubs for our anniversary (9 years? seriously? I do not feel old enough to have been with anyone for almost a decade).
Our car finally kicked the bucket on the way home, but managed to buy a much nicer replacement for less than...

Pretty much moved into the new place, at least to the point of being able to live there. Still need to get the hub's desk and computer set up and get books and movies and all that here (though I've been surprised how little I've noticed the lack of screen media here, except my computer, unless someone mentions it). I love how neat and clean...

Glad to hear the moving in is going well. Hope Hubby get's his desk and PC setup soon.
Making progress towards getting into the new place. I have figured out what my minimum requirements are to be willing to move in and we've almost met them. I need:
-Clean (my requirements here might be a wee bit obsessive, but I'm trying to be open minded and understanding that this will be relative as long as there is active construction going on in some...

Haven't updated for awhile, so here goes one.
Hubs and I are expecting kiddo number two. This pregnancy is infinitely easier than last time around and I'm feeling great, looking forward to a quick, easy delivery, and hoping his/her big sister handles the adjustment well.
Working on a garden plan for this year. We're about to move, again, so that will involve building new beds...

The funny thing about being a really tall girl: if I lose a few pounds I get told I should be a model, but if I gain a few it becomes "You should play basketball".

You should model while playing basketball!
It just keeps snowing!

I know the feeling :/
I'm so tired from moving stuff, but there is a huge bunch of packing material on my bed. I'm honestly a bit tempted to take my pillow and just curl up on the floor, but I suspect that is one of the few ways I could actually make my back hurt noticeably more.
On the other hand, there is no longer a nice steady drizzle...

While I could make a long list of the things I hate about living downtown in Savannah during St. Patty's Day week, nothing quite measures up to the level of fun that is going out for half an hour and coming back to find some asshole tourist has parked in my spot. And no, I don't mean my spot on the street where it's public...

I lived downtown for a week last year and I loved it. It would be great if I could move back.

Yeah, I live in Atlanta now and that is what I miss.
And we're moving. Again.
I love the location we're in now, but it's come to our attention that the stuff that falls like a steady sprinkle of rain off of our walls is, in fact, lead paint. The dust and chips are everywhere in here. I feel kind of stupid that I didn't figure this out on my own a long time ago. In any...

glad to hear it all ended up working out for the better. The new place sounds cute.

Did they do the tests and everything? Because if your landlord has lead pain that he knew about and didn't tell you, that's some pretty serious shit!
The maternity ward was actually kind of scary. After the tour I've decided I really want to avoid having the little one there. I talked to a midwife and am going to try to have her at a birthing center instead. It feels like it's a bit late in the game to be changing the plan, but my daughter will only be born once, and...

You're going to have her in a birthing pool aren't ya? Damned hippie!
I thinkthe one thing my S-I-L learned is that a birthing plan is ber importante when dealing with doctors. But I don't guess it would be quite so important with your hippie "birthing center".
Company can be taxing in the best of times, let a lone when you're harboring a fugitive. That's why I'm a hermit.

To be honest, I'm all about the midwifery. Doctors are all sorts of invasive when they don't need to be. Unless there's a problem the lil' tyke is gonna come shootin' out your fun-slide whether they have you jacked up on pain killers or not.
I saw something once that said a lot of the practices in hospitals hinder the natural birthing process. From being on your back to all the drugs the love to give you to slow down or speed up the labor. Plus they are all about the c-section, even if it's unnecessary (and considerably more dangerous to the mother's health).
I don't know why I know so much about this junk. I guess I watch too much sciencey tv.
