I saw An Inconvenient Truth...

Check this out

Definitely worth seeing. I will refrain from saying a lot about it other than the fact that everyone should check it out and decide what they think.

All is well lately. Life is good.

Things have been crazy busy lately. In a nutshell... I completed my first paid photography project last week for a friend's business... but this caused me to miss an SGAZ event I was invited to so that sucked... I'm kicking ass at work... but my boss just quit to start his own business... I go to Omaha next week for a few days for work......

I have recently learned that giant dust storms can really screw up outdoor photography mad as if there was any doubt. This week has been ridiculous and busy. Im excited for Friday. On the good side I got some photography goodies from Amazon.com as well as Invisible Monsters (Chuck P.) and The Collection Stories (Amy Hempel).

It looks like I will be going to Omaha, NE...

i just bought the book Fight Club, and it'll be my first read of Chuck. you'll have to tell me what you think of Invisible Monsters and whether or not you've read any more of him.

Well my weekend was a little nuts... It was my friend's birthday on Sunday so we went on a grand tour of Old Town Scottsdale. We nearly got arrested because he wandered into a dark hallway at some club to piss all over a door - that happened to lead to the manager's office. It was fun talking our way out of that to the...

SGAZ is hosting another open event this Thursday June 8th. We are having a night out at the Phoenix Museum of Art. If you'd really like to be a part of SGAZ now is the time to come out and meet us. Thursday nights are free of charge so having no cash is not an excuse!
We will be meeting at the main desk at 6pm.

The EVENT!

Afterwards we will be headed to the Willow House for Coffee and whatever else strikes us as interesting. It's located right near by on 3rd St. & McDowell.

Happy three day weekend!

I've felt kinda crappy all week so now it's time for some chilling time... I'm stoked. Being sick is horrible.

any exciting planned for the extended weekend?
slacker_elite:
Yeah, I'm heading to Arcosanti (click here for details) tomorrow to check it out and get in some good photography time. I'm in the mood for something different and this place seems like it should a good place to start.

I highly recommend this CD... It's very cool. The lyrics say it all.

SHE WANTS REVENGE LYRICS

"Monologue"

Kissing a strange hand
My city like streetlamps fade
On the edge of an answer you weigh lust
beginnings are made
Lover forgive me my guilt is my only crime
And I'll carry it round till it breaks me down every time

This is the time of...

God, life is miserable sometimes... it's amazing how much the people closest to you can piss you off more than you thought possible.

I just got back from yet another wedding - that's 5 in 5 months - crazy. Good food, good alcohol, nice people.

It's always a little strange to have a few awkward conversations with people I haven't seen in a while. On one hand it's good to see how everyone has grown and moved on - if in fact they have. On the other hand...

you sound like a friend of mine who just moved to Indy from Cincinnati. last summer, she was probably gone about 3/4 of the weekends for weddings. i don't think i know that many people to begin with!

for the wedding i'm planning, we were talking about leaving out alcohol altogether, and then we realized there'd be no point in having a band because no one would dance. besides, it's always fun to see the parents and the family friends getting a little too goosed up.

I got my Canon Rebel XT last night in the mail! I'm very excited to start trying it out this weekend.

I have begun to rethink some of my current friendships / acquaintances. Ive lived here in AZ all my life and Ive been friends / acquaintances with some people for so long. Im starting to question why. I think that as time goes by...

I spent most of the day helping my roommate out with some photography for his portfolio. I usually deal with lighting (reflectors and such) and make sure the girls look perfect so that he can worry about the actual photography part. The girl we shot was gorgeous and a lot of fun.

I ordered my new Canon Rebel XT and it should be here on...

is that the camera Mr. Agasi did commercials for? best way to learn how to use it is to go out and do, do, do. i also happen to know that method works well in other parts of life, too. convenient, isn't it?

so jealous! i've wanted a rebel for a couple of years now. it will be mine one day (i hope!)

Holy crap Cinco de Mayo is nuts... then when you add free drinks all night (yes this happened to me and it was great) I can't belive how much fun I had - or that I can still function an type for that matter... good times. Ran into a lot of old friends and beautiful girls... good times. Time to crash. Hope you all had...

confused your profile says you've been a member since '03, but you say you're new and the journal is new. how does that work?

p.s. i like to have quasi-conversations before i add friends. i pretend they're real, and in real life, i'm picky. biggrin

So I just busted ass to drive to Tempe and get home in time to do a demo over the phone for work... and the client flaked. Great. Classy. I hate it when people break their commitments. Is a phone call really too much to ask?

mad
vorbei:
picking up a phone is hard work! it requires time and exertion of the fingers, hand and vocal chords. the caller must also possess a rare quality called "consideration of others" in order for the call to be made in the first place. c'mon... do you really expect people to be able to do this?!
