I thought I should let you all know that yes, I am still alive, and doing well.

It's just been a crazy few months. My mom's been sick, my grandfather died, my aunt is a sociopath. I've moved, I was going to lose my job, then I didn't lose my job. I have a girlfriend and a dog. I'm getting new furniture.

All in all,...

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward Ive climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hovring there,
Ive chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.......

that thing is probably impervious to nuclear fallout, they're be cockroaches crawling all over it during Nuclear Winter. When it makes the list of ways to kill a zombie, you know it's a solid keyboard.

I may have just eaten the second best pickles ever. The best were my grandmother's Virginia chunks. But Gedney's Norwegian Dills are definitely delicious. Hot and sweet and...well, the flavor is complex. And they have a kick. They also won a blue ribbon at the MN State Fair.

In 1997. How have I never had these before? How have I gone all this time without...

"You bet your Gedney: it's the Minnesota pickle?" That doesn't ring any bells? Those Gedneys aren't messin' around, yannoh. 'Specially not the Norwegian Gedneys.

Reader, I think proper, before we proceed any farther together, to acquaint thee that I intend to digress, through this whole history, as often as I see occasion, of which I am myself a better judge than any pitiful critic whatever; and here I must desire all those critics to mind their own business, and not to intermeddle with affairs or works which no ways concern them; for till they produce the authority by which they are constituted judges, I shall not plead to their jurisdiction.

Sure. but you're not the type. Trust me.

They've just announced the discovery of the largest horde of Anglo-Saxon treasure found to date, in Staffordshire.

Around 1500 objects; about 11 lbs. of gold and 3 lbs. of silver. For comparison, the previous largest find, at Sutton Hoo, was around 3.5 lbs. total.

I've been looking at photos, and there are some really great objects.

Pretty cool.

I rode the MPLS Bike Tour this morning but I only did the short ride to save my knee. Last weekend I did the 30 mile ride in the St. Paul Bike tour and my knees were all sorts of fucked up and inflamed this past week. I may or may not be doing the Urban Assault ride next weekend with my Dad. Anyway. It was a great morning to ride today. Did you ride it?

:sigh: It was my friend's 30th birthday, and everyone got together, and I wasn't even invited. It's official: I've cut all ties with the world. Sometimes it's not as good as I thought it would be.

...have you not looked at any of my sets? I'm not buxom by any means, unless you're just referring to my tits, which isn't what buxom refers to.

Now how did you know I would find that greatly amusing? ^^ On the other hand, Otoki's tits are a good topic of conversation.

So I bought some new jewelry. Check out the Road ID. Personal identification gear. Since I'm often out cycling and walking by myself, I thought it would be a good thing to have.

I got the interactive model, which lets you keep an emergency profile online--contacts, allergies, medications--rather than try to cram it all onto the tag. I was concerned about the security of...

Reno called yesterday so that one is a top contender now too.
i actually just watched 2 awesome movies that we dvr-ed off the SciFi channel (me refusing to give in to the new channel name).
Have you seen UltraViolet or Equalibrium? I'm not sure if they were specifically made for the scifi channel or if they were just scifi based and aired on the sci fi channel but both were great. I liked UltraViolet better, but would recommend both. Equilibrium kind of reminded me of Fahrenheit 451, a little bit.

Lots of changes at the workplace. They're reorganizing the corporate structure. Again. They're not firing anyone or anything--not that kind of re-org. Just changing who reports where in order to make things more efficient and whatnot. No big impact on me, really. A new boss, but more or less the same old work.

In the four years I've been working at this place, I've had...
