I'm heading for bed soon...
it was a long ass day for me.

but i have one question....

don't you think Tracey Ullman should have won some kind of award for this scene alone?

the woman is just awesome!
and so is John waters biggrin
she was stricken with a bad case of nymphomania....
it happens sometimes!

cut the lady some slack

i'll update a little...

Hope you enjoy the movie as well as I did.

Enjoyed listening to him. biggrin
I could for hours, so if you ever need him to yourself and I happen to be butting in, just say so. wink

I loved your video. Tracy Ullman is a very funny woman. It's amazing how she can reinvent herself.

well...
2007 didnt exactly start out how i was hoping,
my landlord and his wife are expecting their fourth baby by June (so we just found out)
and what this means, is that they either need to switch apartments with us by May, or they will be looking for a new home.
Either way, that means eventually we have to move,
and that sucks pretty...

(Sadly) because of the all-pervasive presence of the US in our media, swearing in Australia is very similar.

Little kids say "ass" and "butt" now intead of "arse" and "bum". "Crap" is huge now, whereas it was quite rare 20 years ago. Basically we're a fuck, shit, cunt country these days with plenty of "buggers" thrown in too.
unnamedcarter:
Oh dear Miss Shelly, I do have to say that does make you a wimp kiss . Just a few minutes ago I had to remove a large huntsman spider from a pineapple in the kitchen and we regularly have brown snakes (super deadly) around where I work.

It's just part of life and the creatures deserve to be here as much as we do. They're generally shy and prefer to be away from us as much as we want to be away from them smile .

It's really not that bad. In the city you're very unlikely to come across anything.

It's the oceans in the tropical parts that are scary. Stingers. shocked

Oh, and in the bush, the dropbears can be frightening too....

Yeah, there have been some moments in the theatre where rewind would have been nice. I have surround sound here and is GREAT with the right movie. I still think Gladiator has the best surround sound effects. Fight Club too.

sorry guys..

looks like i still wont be around much in the next couple days.

I had a great christmas, though the last two days have been rather hectic....

but i've had two sick cats, a catsitting gig, and now two sickly cars that need attending too.
Hopefully i'll be making a comeback soon.

Dorwayin made my holiday season complete by getting me Sirius satellite...

I'm only just beginning to listen to her last album. It seems more . . . subtle than the usual. But nothing wrong with that, God knows. I sustain myself for whole seasons on one nuance, as I'm sure you've noticed. I'm sure she experiments however she pleases, not being exactly one who hangs on popularity polls for her cues. Will listen more during my commute.

Every year I want fondue for New Years, but I never think to look for a fondue pot in time. You don't know where I could find one, do you? Hmmm? Remember in the 1970s, when everyone had a fondue pot?

This is a funny request also, but, knowing me now, do you have any friend whose journal and person you think I might particularly like? I'm kind of shy, but I guess I need to venture out more, even if it is mainly screenally.

Happy New Year to you, dearie!

For a night such as NYE I prefer to be spontaneousas far as the Year is concerned I'm looking forward to going to Europe; Belgium, France, and Spain in the late Spring/Summer

I guess I missed the temporary emoticons disaster. Haven't been posting a lot recently.

Let's see what I found out about your film recommendations (and some random thoughts):

1. The title refers to the concept, mentioned only jokingly in the film, that if an American nuclear plant melts down, it will melt through the Earth until it reaches China. See Wikipedia

2. That must have been the directorial debut of Robert Redford.

3. Great movie. I use it here to refer to another movie (La Pianiste from Michael Haneke where I saw some very angry woman walk out of the movie in London and demanding her money back) and finally a book (on which the movie is based and I think it's worth to read - I was introduced to it by a very funny and sarcastic East-German nurse) called The Piano Teacher (in English).

4. I prefer Four Rooms.

5. I haven't seen a lot of his film work.

6. "It has been claimed that the film fared poorly at the box office, but in fact it grossed almost $54 million in the United States alone, more than Saturday Night Fever (plus a further $24,000,000 in video rentals)." - see Wikipedia

7. "As originally filmed, Carlotta's dog was named Mussolini but due to changing political climate, his name was post-dubbed as Tarzan, even though Marie Dressler's lips are clearly saying the first name." - see IMDB

8. "Two of the actors appeared earlier together in The Unbearable Lightness of Being." - Which ones?

9. "Was a comeback to making films in Hollywood."

10. I would like to see his short "Skaterdater".

Have you watched a movie called Being Julia??

I have this DVD that I am selling on ebay someone was asking me stupid questions if it was a bootleg or a "homemade" dvd... like a copy - as I understand for bootlegs - although my description said it was new and wrapped in box. I was sooooo pissed off all I could think of was sendind it to someone I thought would have a better time watching the movie than the woman asking me those - in my humble opinion - stupid questions....

You are the only one I know - not yet, hope soon - that watches so many movies... If no one buys it I would send it to you if u want. biggrin
