I installed Leopard Saturday. Overall: Very nice.

The Finder: I haven't figured out folder views yet, they seem to change depending on whatever I set my last folder to... which I guess makes sense in theory but is a bit weird.

The Dock: I used to have folders with custom icons in the Dock (specifically my Ginker and AOYE website folders). Those custom icons are...

I pre-ordered Mac OS X 10.5 from Amazon (through a referral link from Daring Fireball), but Amazon's super free saver shipping whatever pushed my ship date to almost two weeks after the release date. So I cancelled my order Thursday night and ordered from the Apple online store. The educational price difference was only a few bucks more, and would ship out for free...

Finally some good news on the iPhone front.

Last night I was dicking around with toc2rta.com's TIFF exploit and iNdependence and tried to downgrade to 1.0.2 to no avail. Then this morning I tried playing music on the bus and it said I had no songs. Yes, very sad.

Then at work I tried downgrading with iNdependence again and I guess the Sun and the...

Sadly, Smash Bros is February. I think the real reason it was pushed was not due to adding more characters, but just Mario Galaxies was being overshadowed by it.

The Wii Zapper with the Crossbow Training looks neato.

For some reason, possibly that I'm technologically impaired, at least when it comes to tinkering with the insides of a device like the iPhone, I can't bring myself around to doing the 1.1.1 update bit. Now if someone here had the experience doing it I would take the thing tomorrow right after picking it up to them, but for some reason i don't want to damage my moste expensive toy. blush

My iPhone woes are starting now.

My iPhone shipped with firmware 1.0.2, the last perfectly hackable version. I used iFuntastic to "jailbreak" it (jailbreak means to allow read/write to the filesystem so you can install custom applications) and never had a serious problem, aside from the random (non-Apple) app freezing up which just needs a restart and everything works again.

I installed a bunch of...

I'm so tired. I was fine this morning, until I went to Dunkin' Donuts, started waiting in line, then realized I only had $1.02 on me. Not enough for my $1.92 small iced coffee.

I'm tempted to drink some of the work coffee, but I had it once and it was pretty terrible. Maybe things have changed since so many months ago.

I should try...

So freaking tired.

It's not fair that after cooking, Ember says it's still my turn to wash the dishes and clean the cat liter.

"Graduate smaduate."

Okay I just guilt tripped her into doing the dishes. She says she'll do it tomorrow before I get home from work. I'll probably end up doing the cat litter in the morning. I want nothing more than to...

What about a "you cook, I clean" system?

I always cook dinner so I never do dishes. However, on the rare occasion that Jon does cook I do the dishes.

I hate doing the "right thing."

I enjoyed the few [conscious/non-sleeping] hours where I thought I could live somewhat more comfortably. Now every week (or two) will be a struggle.

Ember needs to finish school and then we might move and both get awesome high paying jobs.

I'm so angry at myself right now. Worse than how crappy I feel after giving money to beggars...

You did the right thing. You would have looked like a huge asshole when they found the mistake and it's 6 months later. Try to explain then how you didn't realize you were getting paid $x.xx more for 6 months. "gee, i thought they gave me a raise and didn't tell me" probably wouldn't cut it. Plus then you'd be out on lots and lots of money.

Tell Ember to finish school and you two should move here. There's no snow here.

This morning I got a really nice compliment from one of the higher-ups about how I handled a situation with him and clients last week.

What a great way to start this new full-time position.

Also I have zero pressing projects right now. Well, I might have one... but I haven't heard anything about it since early last week. But it's a great load off...

Today is my last day as freelance at CCFV. On Monday I'll be a full-time employee.

Whoa.
ember:
YAAAAAAAY!

All of your hard work has amounted to something!

....Less pay! WHOO HOO!

But at least now if you get really sick you have insurance. In two months.
oldrustedchair:
Yay health insurance and comp time!

Soooo... I own an iPhone.

I'd like to say I'm posting this from it, but for some reason this site seems to hate iPhones. I tried Tevor's last night and my own this afternoon. Each time Safari crashed. Probably way too much ajax-y shit.

Anyway! I hope it doesn't distract me at work and gets me fired. That would be funny.

Ember returns tomorrow!!!! I...

Today should be a good day. I have no "zOMG1!! THIS WAS DUE YESTERDAY!!" type deadlines, which is a first in a couple weeks. Even yesterday I got to leave at 6 pm (I think I finished up around 5:45 but I wanted to wait for my bus), which is like the earliest in weeks.

Ms. Ember is back at her parents', so it's been...

So last week I worked for a total of 65 hours, from Sunday 10 am until late Friday night. Hoof indeed.

My next paycheck will be awesome though. I'm so much closer to the iPhone of my dreams!!

And I know Ember will be happy because I'll have a phone that can actually make/receive calls. A startling new technology to say the least.

Also I'll...
