300 = Awesome.

But I'm sure you already guessed it would be.

Yesterday I was moved to the main building at work. So instead of being across the street from the graphics department, I'm just down the hall. I'm sharing an edit suite with another graphics guy (but he doesn't work Thursdays and Fridays... Is he part time? Does he work the weekends instead? Questions I will ask him Monday. While I try not to get intimidated...

Spotlight is fucking fast as hell on the MacBook Pro. On my G5 it was sometimes painful to use, but on this... it really is instant.

Every time I have to Windows Search at work I want to kill myself. It's faster for me to search folders manually, even when telling Windows to only search the main project folder. It's terrible. This reminds me of...

Man, even after I set up the router here, I can still rarely access my fucking blog. So, I'm gonna have to continue posting here in the meantime... or cross-posting if that works.

Anyway. DAY OFF TODAY. Sweet, Jesus, yes.

While talking to the art director and senior producer/graphics supervisor (I finally found out her official job title; thank god for professional email signatures), and...

Good and bad. First the bad.

Whenever I try to open/save a file using the Open/Save dialogs, the MBP starts searching for my G5, which is not accessible because I'm not on the network at home. I can hit cancel, but the application will still hang waiting for it. Eventually another dialog will come up saying the connection failed. ... the application is still hanging....

Once again, sitting around at work. Very bored. I came in after receiving no new comments or revisions all weekend (I mentioned that if they were easy changes I do them over the weekend) to, surprise, still no new revisions. I ended up getting a tour of the main building with my old producer (from the Algebra show). There was a motion control camera room,...

Once again, I'm sitting around at work waiting for comments, revisions, and... well, at this point, anything.

The clip I posted the other day got revised when the client realized it didn't match the look of the show (specifically the sky and hills with quilts). "Wow! I totally remembered it differently!" Yeah. Thanks. Good one, Sprout peoples. So a few minutes later I had a...

I've been sitting around not doing work since 10:56 am (according to the last time I saved my AFX project file) waiting for the client to review the clips we sent yesterday and to answer a few questions before we can go ahead and finish the rest (the rest in my case being the "night time close").

It's 1:10. That was over two hours ago...

Pocket packs of tissues have saved my ass in some near embarassing moments.

You should shock your system with LOTS of vitamen C. There's no way to take too much, you'll just pee it out. Sometimes this helps me kick the sickies to the curb before it gets too bad.

Feel better!! smile

The first half of my second project is done. Man, I wish everything was this easy.

Now, before I give out the link I have a disclaimer: This is not exactly original artwork of mine. Well. Okay, so none of it is. I was given the project files and media of a short animation and it was my job to make a night time version...

All the visuals and After Effects work for Algebra for Students is done!

THANK GOD.

Now I can start working on Sprout, because I have been putting it off all day long. Hopefully I can copy it to my MBP and work on it on the train and at home.

Ugh. This sucks and I don't even know why.

Cleaning snow off the Ultra Camry: Not as bad as I expected.
Web desigin' with the MacBook Pro on the trains: Good.
Work: Boring, there's not much left to do. Tomorrow I start on Sprout until we get the final revisions back for episode 10.
Kiah was in town for an interview at Moore, so we...
