i'm having the world's most entertaining AIM convo right now, with a dear old friend. she is HYSTERICAL!! i swear, no other femme makes me laugh that hard. biggrin

::sigh:: we will not be going to DC in 21 days after all. we will therefore be missing Chi's sister's wedding, and the massive family reunion that surrounds it. once again, i'm not getting to meet the...

so why then, are so many cool people leaving?

bean:
Beats me. That's a puzzler.

Glad you're showing your face around here again...how do you guys like Colorado?

well, people, the pregnancy progresses. we are now a quarter of the way through. we won't know gender for another 15 weeks or so, give or take a week. but so far so good. Well, except for the fact that I threw up my anniversary dinner tonight. woohoo! anyway, the whole preggers thing kinda bites so I'm looking forward to pushing this kiddo out. Work...

thanks to asthmatic and leavemehere for welcoming me back... unfortunately, i guess i don't have a whole lot of time to check in, due to baby stuff and scrambling for hours at work.

so, i got a check up and they said i may be as far as 7 weeks along. certainly no less than 5, but they lean toward 7. it's going to be...

bwaha! i have returned! ARRR!!!

well, you didn't think you'd gotten rid of me, didja? ::wink::

so, as some of you who read ChiRex's journal may have already heard, i'm quite preggers. i'm getting the dizzy spells, headaches, fatigue, and such, but no morning sickness. in spite of it all, i'm extremely happy about my good fortune.

we're calling it PopTart until we know if it's...

::laffs:: pending my background check... i'm hired!

going to work for an after school program for kids whose parents can't pick them up from school at 3pm... so my schedule will monday thru thursday from 2.30-6pm. i know, it's only part time, it's not much pay, but it's regular school kids, not SED, and gives me plenty of time to get a second job, elsewhere....

Oh cool! I did that for a couple years. The kids were great, and since it was an afterschool/school-break-daycare program, we basically just got to play all the time, which was really fun. I was constantly worn out, but it was good because I was getting exercise, at least. But yeah, the pay sucked. I did that during breaks when I was working in special ed at a year-round school, which paid a bit better, but wasn't as much fun.
bean:
NPR does rock. I love love love it.

I'm a graphic designer & web developer now. I worked with special ed for 3 years, and while I really enjoyed it, and they loved me because they said I had the patience of a saint, I'm working toward a degree in graphic design, so it made sense to take this job.

ahhhh... new ginger set.

i'm still looking for work, and getting nearly nowhere. making new friends in my area, tho.

i guess i really don't have all that much to say today. i can't find my keys... ::sigh::
rumpusparable:
yeah, all i've been doing for the past few years has been indulgin hobbies -whether jobwise or funwise.

it keeps me entertained, generally, but doesn't really go anywhere... you know?

thx for the hugs & teddy, still battling the old germies.

smile

not pregnant.

not only that but having the most miserable combination of cramps and low-blood-volume weakness and dehidration i have had the misfortune to experience in several years, without exaggeration. forced to stay home, because i'm too weak to get out of the bathtub at times, muc less trek all over town doing interviews and applications. this cost me at least one good oportunity, i...

thanks to everybody who offered me advice on the (possible) pregnancy situation. as per the overwhelming majority of votes, i've decided to wait on the test until i've missed a period for sure.

still looking for work, and beginning to get discouraged. i still don't know about this one really nice job i interviewed for 2x. wish me luck! until i have pay tho, i...

Arrgh, CAN'T be without a shop! That's just unacceptable. biggrin And yay for Cons, the saviour of long distance friendships for comic geeks everywhere (not that I consider you, Chi, or myself geeks mind you, just sayin'. smile)

I have to agree with Dave_H, wait 'til you're late, unless you just can't bear it anymore, in which case, go ahead with the test. How's that for the total non-commital advice of the year? smile

Say hi to Chi for me, and I hope you guys are settling in nicely.

wait.

anticipation is such a delicious thing...

okay, after a month of roaming around the country, visiting family and friends, and moving, i FINALLY have internet access at home again! biggrin

so that hopefully means i'll be able to hang out more often, likely when chi is in classes and such.

colorado is lovely... BIG mountains, friendly people, lots of sky, hot sunny mornings and stormy evenings. i'm currently looking for work, and...

You and Chi are still in SGSD. You aren't creeps, you participated when you lived here. I see no reason why you can't use the group to stay in touch.

GAH!

seriously, folks... the past month has been crazy. first the anime expo, then the SD comic-con, and ever since that, packing for the move.

yes dear friends, we are leaving the SD area for the great beyond... colorado springs that is, just beyond the rockies. making it the eastern-most address i've ever held in the states. chi will be going to school, and i'll...
