I'm over the worst part of the cold...have kind of a cough, feel a little sickish still. I just got a flu shot, which supposedly can make you a bit ill, and I've been taking some Robitussin which gives me a funny zippy feeling. So I've got several kinds of funky going on with my mind-body, can't tell what's coming from what.

Plus it's getting...

Had a fun weekend...some photo/video might be available soon but now I'm sick. Got a nasty cold that's been going around my aikido dojo. So I'm just sitting on the couch trying to ignore the crappy raw feeling inside my head & get some stuff done.
brompton:

Finally got a break from the crazy work-stream of this week yesterday. Went to my girl's college friend's birthday which was at Brooklyn Farms, a spacious bar on Flatbush.

Got nice with a couple of dark & stormys then beer...very accomplished 30s-ish crowd...my girl AC was Harvard so lot of lawyers, writers, editors...bunch of people who work for the NY Times because the birthday boy...

My husband and I lead a tour of 8 teenagers to Japan for an Anime and Manga tour. We had a really good time. We took them to some of the major sites and cities like Tokyo, Tokyo Tower and the Imperial Palace, Kamakura, Kyoto and the Gion District, Nara, Hiroshima, Osaka, and Miyajima.

I've been lazy about the pics but since we went to a lot of the same places we've been before the pics pretty much look the same. I have pics from our last trip to Japan in one of the SG folders. I will be putting some up of this trip eventually... When I can get off my ass and look through them for new stuff. smile

I can't wait to go back already. But, like I said before, next time without all the teens. wink Unless I get paid for it next time.
kryptik:
Thanks so much for the kind comment on my set in MR.

I had never thought of taking pics of my food... I'll have to remember that! biggrin

It is getting intense in the home office...I'm getting footage from all over the world and dealing with all kinds of tech issues with these funky formats...this like I said is a high-profile project for the UN and I'm being a bit reticent about it here because, well, not everyone is totally open-minded about web communities like SG. wink

But if someone expresses actual interest I'll...

Starting to get used to working from the home office though it feels like so little gets done sometimes. I'm working on yet another high-profile job for the UN, did I mention that? I'm basically in charge of this job which is pretty massive, involves getting people all over the world to shoot stories on the impact of the global financial crisis.

Now that I...

i'm lucky enough to have made some strong friends here, enough so that i've been operating on gift memberships. my last one just expired, but i had a second saved, so i just confirmed that.
getting active in the groups is the best way to make friends here.
sometimes random comments on a blog can be a bit unnerving...
meh, that's my advice at least. i'm not all that great at keeping up with the discussions myself so i'm not one to talk...

I just shot an interview with the Secretary General of the UN, in his office! I've spent the last several days trying to set it up, chasing down his secretary by email and phone and just found out last night we had a slot for this morning.

It was almost a comedy of errors leading up to the shoot...the security was insane, there was lockdown...
