Alright, here's the thing. After being on SG over a year, I've made a decision. I have way too much going on in the near future (and too much I ought to have going on) to be a part of this community. I am thankful for the friends and numerous other connections this site has helped me make, but at this point in my life,...

I want to get my boys neutered, but I'm afraid that something will go wrong. frown I've taken my rats to see so-called exotic vets who clearly have no idea how to even handle, let alone treat, rats. With so much negative experience, the thought of my boys going into surgery (albeit minor) makes me way too nervous.

I know what you mean about the site being a great big distraction. I check this site so obsessively it's not even funny.
cairo:
Hey, that's an idea...I wonder if I should just contact a local rat rescue and see if their vet will neuter my boys? (Or if they can at least refer me to a trustworthy vet) There's a few in the MD/PA area that seem really dedicated to the wellbeing of their rats, and I'd feel tons better taking them there.

Quenten, you're a genius!!!

So Voltaire is leaving the site. She was one of the reasons I joined. Now the only one of those first three intriguing girls left is going to be Quinne. (The other was Nala.)

Hmmm.

Happy birthday! Sorry I'm late, my life has been the stuff of soap opera recently. No time for anything but the vare essentials, and I'm afraid the internet doesn't qualify.

How Cool!

..and Meg played two timpani drums? Wow, interesting. What song did she use those for? As a drummer, I'm intrigued.

oh, and belated Happy B-Day.

All Prozac did for me was make me nauseous.

Which I guess is nice because I lost weight. So that's how it cures depression.

I'm going to the White Stripes on Friday (my birthday!). I knitted Meg White a red and white striped scarf. I hope I can give it to her.

Lately I've been wanting to get married, which is dumb, I know.

Oh, and I'm almost 23, which I think should seem older to me than it does. I always expected it would, but I still feel in limbo.
dash_____:
I've found this is exactly when gals start wanting to get married, and exactly the worst time for them to do so. Limbo is exactly right - not a child, but no power as an adult yet.

Getting married, then, is a natural impulse, - it's like, hey! Instant adult! - but don't act on it. Not till you're 25. 30 is better. 35, better yet.

Just my two cents from someone who's been there.

Ack, this is why I've stayed away from ebay for years.

I'm bidding on this baddass antique rosary and this bitch keeps outbidding me. Time to snipe.

Poor New Orleans. At least it looks like the French Quarter is still there. I guess it's better than we could have hoped for on Sunday. I just hope they can get it dried out soon.

I hoped for three things to be spared -- St. Louis' Cathedral, the voodoo museum, and this little 300 year old bar at the very end of Bourbon Street....

Thank God, New Orleans seems to have survived Katrina. I have such a fondness for that place. I've been wearing my mardi gras beads blessed by a voodoo priestess for luck.

Thanks to everyone who prayed, hoped, did a spell, or danced a raindance to veer that shrew away from the Big Easy.

I wrote a poem the other day. It is sad and perfect and I'm afraid of it.
