I made a lovely minestrone today. And an equally lovely citrus-shallot vinaigrette. Oooo, so perfect for the warm weather. I love shallots. They're like onions only better. And now I shall eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream and watch The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. Yum, 'tis the season for lagers. biggrin

Skelton Key rocked last night. The Melvins rocked last night. I wish I could've stayed to see more of Tomahawk, becuase they rocked last night. Oh and I found out one of my co-workers is a racist piece of shit last night. When we got back from the show the bartender got all pissy 'cause I ate the last piece of pizza, which I thought...

You young whippersnappers and your loud rock music!!! biggrin

I copied the letter I wrote to Skin & Ink into my journal, in case you'd like to take a look. Kudra says it sounds pretty "prejudiced" to her. Dear Goddess, I certainly hope so!! You described my feelings re Satanism exactly. A religion founded on narcissism (of course, they completely deny that it IS a religion; "religion is for the weak!"). The truth hurts, kiddies. Anyway, no hate mail yet, and I'm not gonna sweat it.

Glad you had a good time at the show! Come to Portland some time and we'll hang out. smile

Melvins and Tomahawk tonight!

I just submitted my third desktop. I hope they're all well-received, but the Jayne one is my favorite.

FUCKING SHOW: FUCKING RAWKED!

'Tis a dark and stormy night...

Which is odd because Seattle, though it rains here frequently, rarely gets it's balls up to have a real storm with lightning and enough rain to do more than annoy you with it's dampness.

I spent my day making wallpapers which got progressively better as I did them. The first I posted a link to in the SG Army...

Yes, the goal very much wants me back. There is a matter of 6500 miles separating me from the goal. That is a problem. I just moved back to the States. Why do these things happen?

Just got back from the bars. I could've crashed on my friends' couch, but you know... I have this inate need to seek comfort. comfort for me is the home, to be there, surrounded by environs that are intimately familiar... well... I guess it just does something for me that accepting the generosity of tried and true friends does not. I love 'em though, goodness...

No, you rock! I get the comfort concept. I am lost without my big squishy bed.

S.B. is nice. Unofortunately the median age is about 20. I was a chef once myself. Went to school and everything. I am a woman. Men did not like taking directions from me. What more can I say?

Three days off. Well, mostly. I just have to get through the dinner rush. That's all I have to do. Then rest and sleep and time off and then the fucking Melvins/Tomahawk show on Monday. Rawkin'!

three days off?, the MAN has let you go, good, the MAn is evil, good you have some time away from his evilness, keep fighting the MAN

Thanks! Judging from your pic, you don't have a lot of troubles either... I think it is actually detrimental. Only the creepy guys hit on me and my two girlfriends are fucking nuns! Where did I go wrong? Are you a chef? wink

Well, I knocked out my script and handed it off to my buddy. He read it and said it looked good, so now he passes it on to my buddette who will do the shooting. If she likes it, too, we'll all get together and 'discuss amongst ourselves'. Pick a couple of actors and start planning and all that. WHAT FUN!

Singingly: I'm gonna make...

I saw House of a Thousand Corpses Today. I thought it rocked but everyone I went with seemed to vote it unanimously a disapointment. I prefer to think they just didn't get it. I mean, they thought it would be scary! When was the last time you saw a horror movie and were scared? 12, 13 years old? The way I look at it, horror...

There are way too many movies I go see and think they are amazing only to have them shot down by friends. I still have a tough time selling Mulholland Drive to people. They just have no clue. But I get it, I mean... people take things too literally and are often too afraid to come to their own conclusions. Everyone wants CliffNotes versions. Tis sad.

Can't sleep. Did a reading:

1st: Strength which I interpret to mean finding strength through controlled restraint. By controlling urges without denying them or repressing them we become more adult, and in a sense stronger.

2nd: The Devil suggesting that the aforementioned urges are, in essence, evil and that through learning to control them I am removing personal (psychological, emotional, etc.) blocks that are hindering...

i always found readings frascinating. even if one doesnt believe in their outcomes, one can usually glean some kind of outlook from the cards to help them decide which direction to take. which, possibly, was the original intent to begin with. sort of an auto-psychiatry. i could use some of that

another thing to....this arbitrary quiz you speak of which provided you your stats...where is? im curious
radiobastet:
Verrry interesting... Is this like a progression spread (present-path from present to future-future)? Sounds pretty prescient to me. Starting from a position of Strength, always good. The Devil, representing things that we are bound to (obsessions, addictions, etc.); not necessarily evil (you young whippersnappers toss that word around too much, IMHO!) but definitely hinderances to growth. Could be something that's in your way right now that you need to work on. Wheel of Fortune says that a certain element of "fate" will be playing its hand (I agree, luck really isn't as random as it may seem; our choices and actions have a lot to do with it. I have learned over the years, however, that one must always make concessions for chaos. Chaos happens; the Trickster gets his licks in more often than we'd care to admit!). The Lovers, definitely indicating a choice that must be made. Six of Wands, an *excellent* outcome card! Yep, this is a great reading with some very positive energy behind it. Now I'm inspired to do one... smile
