Wedding next November. Time to start saving up for that kilt!

Congratulations!

Hey, you mentioned Television (the band not the object) in your profile! Nice. smile And you're a Dem political wonk. This is good. We need more spinsters (the occupation not the old lady) like you to kick the evil old men out of the white house.

....and heartiest combolations on your engagement. Married life is, ah....well it's interesting.

What's new?

The vacation countdown has begun! Less than a month to go and I'm counting the seconds. Our Canadiens/Maple Leafs tickets came in the mail a couple weeks ago and I'm still geeking out about that. Susan's gonna paint a huge bedsheet banner for the game, something along the lines of "Pittsburgh loves the Habs." We'll see.

We...

Yeah. It's certainly been a while. I'm surprised I still have and friends in my profile. Heh.

It's been an eventful few months or so. The girlfriend moved in with me in April and that's been nothing but stellar so far. I turned 26. Three of my friends, including my best friend, got married. Susan and I are planning a...

Wow, it's been forever and a day since I've updated.

I'm very much in love. That is all. I'll write more later.

Then she appeared, apple venus on a half open shell
Then she appeared, the first photograph on Fox Talbots gel
I was a little frightened
Flying with my senses heightened
Cherubim cheered...

Lumos!

So let's run down things in chronological order, shall we?

Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire = much spectacularness. So, so, amazing. Mike Newell very ably stepped into Alfonso Cuarn's large shoes. He's not as inspired a visual director, but he's proved himself quite adept at managing many plotlines in previous films (even lighter fare like Four Weddings and a Funeral), which is essential to GoF. The acting has all improved tenfold, particularly among the three leads. Rupert Grint is Ron; he totally owns the role. Radcliffe has some big moments to sell, which he does. Ralph Fiennes - well, what can you say about him, really? It's like Amon Goethe as an evil drama professor. And Brendan Gleeson is top-notch, as per usual. And dragons. Dude, dragons. biggrin

Next, Thanksgiving was wonderful...

'Twas a fun weekend. My friend Jeff and I made to trek out to Harrisburg to see Jeff Tweedy of Wilco for a solo show. So this extends my streak of seeing Wilco live to four years straight. This was the first time I've seen Tweedy solo, though, so it was a nice change of pace. While it wasn't quite as, well, mind-blowing...

I decided to play hookey tonight from work and go see the Montreal Canadiens/Penguins game with my little brother. Even though the Habs lost (DAMN YOU SIDNEY CROSBY!), that was possibly the most exciting game I've ever been to. It felt like a playoff game at times. A tight, close-scoring affair with tons of great chances on both sides. Both Theodore and Thibault...

But seriously, I cant get into hockey because I put my heart and soul into football and one passion like that is enough.

Ya...normally I don't do the blind date thing.

It turned out great at first...we were both into a lot of the same things. She was even into baseball - I've been a fan since I was a kid.

But alas...one minute she's all about dating...and the next she's basically telling me to fuck off. ah well...it was fun while it lasted.

how was your weekend?

This is the first Saturday in forever where I don't have anything to do. Sucks; I'm really bored. I want to go out and have fun and I don't feel like hitting the bar(s) solo. Blargh.

I love that song. It's totally me. biggrin

I got the new HP video game last night! It's pretty cool so far and you can play with two other people at the same time. That's a lot of Harry, Hermione and Ron goodness.

P.S. I'm a dork.

Wow, what an awesome weekend.

Started out kinda crummy, though. Saturday morning (and I do mean morning - 7:00am) I went to get the car fixed. What should have been simple problems ended up being about $200. Money that I needed for other things. But, the car's in okay shape once again. And considering I had a 4+ hour drive ahead of me that...

I'm so bummed I didn't get to meet you. From that list and some of your journal entries, it sounds like we have quite a bit to talk about.

Your costume looked great. smile I'll try to get some pictures of me in my Ravenclaw uniform.
