I have just spent the morning at a local university speaking with the Philosophy Dept. faculty. I am considering going back to school. Clearly, I have gone insane and will need to be hospitalized before I actually fill out financial aid forms. When I picture myself at 976 absorbing the works of Plato, I am nearly orgasmic. But when I picture myself staring at a...

Best of luck with your current decisions & subsequent life. I respect philosophy. It's the verbal equivalent of mathematics. And everyone respects math.

Well I think it's great that you are addicted to learning. If you feel that's the trail you should follow, go for it! It's great to learn and to have that atitude like you have. wink Wish you luck! smile

So, here's what happened...................

.......................

They fired me.

eeek I know, I know. I've never been fired before and I realized when you really hate the job, it's not too bad. Weird thing is, they gave me a raise, fired me, told me I did a "great" job and that they would give me a good reference, and then paid me through the end of the...

I am always happy when I leave a job. I have been layed off once, actually the whole comapny went under. It is always a relief to me. Sure you worry about money, etc... but it always seems to be a blessing, eventually...

Severence is always nice, never quite enough, but nice. I love when people try to bribe me, I always take the bribe but then do what I was going to do in the first place. Seems to me that will backfire one day... smile Hope you find something that isn't boring!! (That's always my measure of a good job, not being bored)

I just wrote quite a nice entry here only to lose it when i hit the "back" button. ARRGGGH! ARRR!!!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I just found another SG member that has some cool stuff to look at on his page. Check out rottenart. By far the craziest thing about him is that he's from my hometown. While you're there, you might want to...

puke

this weekend was bizarre and ended poorly. Colbs left the garage door open for about an hour and my racebike and her mountainbike were stolen. a part of me wants to ring her neck. I don't so much as care that I don't have the bike as i care about the fact that it was built specifically for me by my friends in OKC and...

That is horrible. If my bikes were ever stolen, I would have to sell my car to buy a new one. Actually one of my bikes is worth more than my car... I wouldn't have it any other way...
smile

Most likely the bikes are gone forever. But calling the bike shops would be a good move. I have heard of people having there bikes stolen, and then the thief brings the bike into a shop for a tune up a couple of days later. Thieves are not too bright, usually. I keep my bikes indoors hanging on the wall...

it's true. born and raised. i take it you're from the same locale? though it looks as though you seem to get around!

that sucks about yr bikes. i know the feeling. it's happened to me twice now. finally i learned my lesson and now i keep them indoors...

hope your week gets better!

It's too too early and I have no idea why I'm awake.
OK... Something happened a few days ago that I suppose is important but I haven't written about it at all. Since writing is my primary outlet, that strikes me as a little odd. But then, whenever something is signnificant, this tends to happen.
At the risk of shocking and maybe even hurting a...

I may be wrong, but it seems like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders. I sometimes think that someone must suffer in order to appreciate things that are good. If everything was always good, you would just start expecting that. I guess that is pretty cynical. I hope you don't have to suffer any more. I hope everything goes well for you in your transition to a new life. smile

I don't push people away, I just embrace and trust. For how many times I have gotten burned, by family or friends, I still do it. Sometimes I wish I could just push people away. It isn't always a bad trait.

Don't feel bad about not crying, sometimes emotions are just all used up.

hi there. are you from OK or something?

When I was living in LA last February I read a year's worth of Esquire Magazine that my flatmate, Jason had in the living room. There is a regular column there called 10 Things You Don't Know About Women. Each month a publicist of a gorgeous female celebrity creates the list and then sends it to the magazine as if the celeb hereself wrote it....

I am an evil person. Kel and I just got back from the Beach Comber where I gave out a false phone number to 2 men who kept hounding me. One of them was very nice. Bought me and Kel drinks and kept saying over and over how beautiful he thought I am. (He was drunk) Apparently I am "Hotter than fuck" whatever that means....

How about the truth? Tell him you were glad to have made his acquaintance and that you enjoyed the conversation(howver brief). When he asks for your number just let him know that you don't feel comfortable giving your number to someone you just met. If you do thhis correctly you can both appeal to his sense of chivalry and allow him to save face;
By telling him in a way that conveys concern for your own safety (not from just him but from any casual acquaintance with whom you've had limited interaction) he can hardly fault you or feel offended.

Hope this helps smile

Jac

P.S. Has anyone ever told you that you're hotter than fuck? *HICCUP* wink biggrin

Thanks for the compliment. Yeah it's Jordan, I don't care that you posted it. No worries. But yeah I'd like to meet up for a drink sometime. At least I could keep the creepy guys at bay for a few minutes.
