I'm cancelling my account - it expires January 24th. SG lost my interest a long time ago and for the last year or two all i've done is check in on a few people and keep an eye out for interesting sets. But i wanted...

thanks for your comment on my blog. it was interesting. I suppose there is a small risk in putting myself on this site, but most of the people I have talked to have been very supportive and haven't been critical. I can also see how being on the site could effect someone's self-esteem, but I wouldn't go so far as to tying my self worth to what people on SG think of me, but I will admit that when I did my set I felt sexy and more confident and I was really pleased with the pictures. It was a fun experience and the fact that other people like it is cool too. So, I see what you're sayin but I don't think it's as serious as that.

Oh and i'm glad you liked the set lol smile

3 weeks ago I awoke for my first full day in Portland, OR.

since then, everything has actually gone according to plan. well, minus a few missed concerts.

I've probably spent more constructive time working on music in the last week than I do in my average month. By the end of this year I hope to have produced, engineered, and also partially written...

It's not that he stopped caring. It's that he never cared, and now he's stopped being afraid to admit it.

I sold my camera. I wasn't taking any pictures at all anymore and I wanted to buy more guitars and other music gear. In the end I bought a drumkit and I'll be getting a bass soon.
Still, I was looking at pictures in my photo library (which, no matter how many hours i spend DELETING pictures, is still well over 11,500...

right now i would kill to be able to stay up all night listening ot music and trying to record something new.
But i have to work in the morning - then I have to come home for an hour and get ready for another job that will be like 12 hours long. frown Reality bites

We grow tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, beans, radishes, squash, zucchini, asparagus, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, lettuce, sweet potatoes, onions, cabbage, amaranth, soybeans, flax, spelt, a little corn, turnips, kohlrabi, peas, a long list of herbs, carrots, fennel, leeks, umm... other stuff that I'm sure I'm missing here.

One day this will all be only a memory
The only evidence there ever was a you or me
Maybe some photographs, a letterhead
Some tattered clothes or a battered car.

If we're lucky, someone might know our names
Maybe what we look like, how we talk
Or the ground on which we walk.

Impermanence
Let that sink in, get under your skin
Even...

Its amazing how powerful the SEEMINGLY SIMPLE notion of "here today, gone tomorrow" truly is. smile

I actually bought an acoustic guitar, nothing fancy. I kind of did it on a whim. I've never played before, but always wanted to...so i figured, why not? My best friend is a musician and he's always offering to teach me...i guess i'll take him up on his offer now. Our exchange is that I have to teach him Spanish lol.

Have you ever heard of Alela Diane or Mariee Sioux? Well, their sound definitely inspires me. They are probably my favorite singer-songwriters right now. Joan Baez, early Dylan, Richard and Mimi Farina, Arborea...the list goes on. So, if i was to stick to a specific genre, it would be folk. I'm fascinated by it. My first show ever was actually one of Alela Diane's (not too long ago), and i was just astounded by the energy that she was able to convey with just her voice and a guitar. It was one of THOSE moments...an epiphany of sorts...i guess hahaha. smile

I do enjoy writing, but have never really tried songwriting. Although, i suppose, almost anything can be made into a song.

Been really digging Menomena's first album "I Am The Fun Blame Monster." They are a really unique indie band out of Portland, OR. One of their distinctions that gets them talked about is the fact that they compose all their music in a software sequencer - actually specifically a sequencer that was coded by a member of the band who is a computer programmer - and...

ouch!
It is an awesome song, and and awesome album. I'm glad they are not a "one-song" band only. His voice in this track also makes the story a lot creepier and darker. Love it.

i mean, i wasn't intending to look sad, or particularly sad about anything. not that i was actually intending anything with these pictures. just plain boredom. maybe i have a general sadness thats just there no matter what?
the other day i randomly said something to my boyfriend and i think its actually pretty accurate:" don't you wish the apocalypse had already happened?" i feel like iv been waiting for ever...
