_smurfzilla_:
coyotes are up there with groundhogs in the animals that are annoying category. lol
nurgle:
Well, they're a legitimate nuisance around here. So I'm going to be popping them like crazy.

I'm even getting a night scope for my mini (early birthday present?).

Yeah, in a way. I've been feeding them extra because it's cold out, and they seem to think I'm made of oats and pellets. What they need to do is chill out. Arthur is constantly trying to get something to eat from me (they get feed twice a day and have unlimited access to good hay), and Pickles is constantly pushing them away from food when I put out feed (I have to feed him separately). I need to get halters on both of them so I can start leading them around and get a sense of order and control in their lives. And we need to get stalls built so I can separate and feed them individually.

Beautiful pictures.
Thank you for the add wink

I HAVE A FUCKING COUPON.

I've been wearing the same pair of boots for over 6 years, they're old and just plain uncomfortable anymore. So I got a coupon from Baskin's for 20% off and Ariat products this weekend. Coincidentally, the new boots I've been eyeballing are by Ariat. Sweetness, right? Nevermind the fact that Ariat wants $180 for a pair, but Baskin's wants $150,...

Tomorrow I start at the horse rescue. My own horses are doing much better. Since I have no real intention of riding on roads, I have decided to leave them barefoot.

In other news, I'm closing my account on SG, but only temporarily. The job market isn't what I thought it would be, so I'm canceling all my subscriptions and memberships until I can get...

aww buddies they are so cute... barefoot is the way to go, shoes are expensive and get thrown. more of a headache than worth it in my opinion
nurgle:
Thanks ladies. smile

Yeah, and I plan on doing a lot of trail riding, and if a shoe gets loose and a root or stick gets in there...it's bad news...

By the way, the horse rescue was great. Froze my ass off, but it was great. Missed out on picking up two Arabians (couple getting a divorce, can't afford them by themselves, so they're voluntarily giving them up), but I did win a tug o war fight with a donkey.

decorations! kidding I know that cant be good for them
nurgle:
I already tried the local barns...no dice. With the economy the way it is, they're hard up enough to do for themselves...I'm waiting on a reply from a nearby rescue about trading volunteer time for knowledge and training because that's something they can't blame the ecenomy on. wink

And apparently the burrs aren't really bad for him, but I can't do any cutting on his tail till after summer because it acts like a flyswatter. the mane I can go after whenever I can get close enough and he'll let me.

I'm actually taking suggestions on renaming Pickles. I figured what better way to name a horse than to ask insanely beautiful women? lovebiggrin

So I've decided to save three horses. They were put out on a relatives farm and left. I got one of them friendly enough that I can brush it, and as far as we know, that's the first time it's been worked with at all in three years. So today I went to Hubbard and got them a round bale of hay and a 50lbs...

That is amazing!
jamberee_:
dewormer is only like 10 bucks and thats something thats really important to do, almost as much as their feet. If they are skinny you can make them beat pulp mash because thats a really fast way to add pounds on them and its pretty inexpensive. Corn also has a lot of fat in it. If they have worms they could look fat but really they are full of worms and horses should be wormed every 6-8 weeks.

Should I shave off my beard? I'm thinking about it, but I thought I'd troll around for opinions before I decide anything.

I'm on the right. Sorry it's blurry. Can't even trust a drunk sorority girl to even take a decent photo LOL.

Please, let the comments flow forth.

Well, I finally made the move to Waco. Not too far from MCC (where I'll be taking classes this spring). Was introduced to HEB the other day...that place is pretty amazing. I think I spend as much time at home as I do driving back and forth to Hubbard lol. Supposed to be going to Mexia (And yes, I do know how to say it....
